Now i go Speedmart more often than Carrefour. Things they sold are cheaper by 10%-20%. Even toilet roll/yogurt is cheaper. Beer also cheaper than Carrefour's special promotion price.
Another thing i like...just walk in, grab it and pay. Don't need to wait for long queue.

Only problem is.. they seem to be closed a lot. And they don't sell much stuff other than retail.

No need to compare with 7-11, they're always over priced, but convenient.

I am not trying to promote Speedmart, but i am trying to promote shop that efficient and cost effective.
My intention is simple : support those shop that is giving the best value to customer. let them stay alive...and eventually customer win.

For gardenia bread lover, go to kedai ubat cina...always cheaper by 20 to 30 cent. Speedmart don't have this benefit.

Don't forget to factor in fuel cost yeah. Imagine if buy beer from Speedmart, bread from Chinese Medical hall, other stuff from Hypermarket, cost of travel alone will demolish all the savings. Unless all are within walking distance and even then would you walk just to get an item you felt was cheaper by 20-30 cents?

Not 100% of course. I was told if there is some great promotion, hypermarket are cheaper then.
Therefore be a wise buyer, check around. And factor in the traveling cost yeah.

I know carrefour selling at RM5.40 for carlsberg so far.

i worked in 99 speedmart before, so i roughly know abit how they sell their wares, previously 99 mart selling few items that are best seller also popular choice among the shoppers, but once the item gain popularity, they would make a big offer on it then once finish offer off from the shelf already

I also like to buy at 99 Speedmart ... but my only complain is that they close at 10 pm . I prefer if they could extend to 10:30 or 11 pm . At midnight shopping , I prefer going to KK mart rather than 7 - Eleven .
