For now the most common CFW would be Vortex 1.5 in my opinion, and so far all the cfw you can only view the chinese word but not input, which means you can only read but not write. Lastly, it depends on which cfw you install but most of it i think can update nokia maps without trouble. Hope that helps smile.gif

That really helps a lot bro! I found out other CFW just now, like XTE Blaze Ultimate, XpressTech by appleorangefruit, Pirated, Quicken, Photon, Xtension Legacy.. so far Photon looks good to me, anyone using it?

This guide boleh pakai ah? I really total noob in flashing stuffs.. I want
- Clean all my current firmware
- Flash my phone to v52.0.101
- Install CFW (in this case Photon)
http://galihrezah.wordpress.com/2011/04/17...rsi-galihrezah/

A question. I would like to delete all my application leftover files in C:\. Meaning I want JUST firmware and system files in C:\. Can that be done using hard reset?

Thanks! Should I delete it while the phone still on? After delete, then use JAF to flash the new v52.0.101?

good luck..
trust me photon is the fastest cfw..
although it got some unsatisfaction for me. (the landscape turning a bit delay compared to xtension legacy)
but overall the ram is good, and the menu delay all gone..
gaming also good..

dont need to reinstall or re-buy... laugh.gif

just make sure that you dont delete the Garmin folder and GarminMobileXT.sis file in memory card everytime you reflash or reformat...
and if you need to make a clean format of your memory card, just copy the whole Garmin folder content and GarminMobileXT.sis file to PC, after format restore it back to memory card...

fyi...
Garmin folder contain your garmin data (maps, licence key, POIs, saved waypoints etc.)
while GarminMobileXT.sis is used to reinstall Garmin app if it is not present in menu...

sometimes (for me, most of the times...) you need to press the power on button long enuf for JAF detect your phone...

most tut said press for about 1 second, as for me 1 second is to short, just press until JAF show that phone is 'Found', trust me m8 it does take 2 seconds or more...

dont worry if nothing happen after pressing power on button, just clik Flash and press it again until JAF found your phone...

This applies to when I first ask the shop to install for me or when I install them myself?
