try setting geometry and effects to high... it wont effect performance much (not sure about the 9600 pro though).. i would only have problems seeing tanks and apcs at long range.. never had any problems seeing infantry...
the effects option will enable u to see bullet strikes... great for long distance shooting.. hope this helps...

Congrats smile.gif 1280x 1024 resolution ok for your eyes? if yes go for it. I prefer 1152x864 though don't mind me i'm still using 17". I say go to 75Hz refresh faster easy on your eyes.

I have a recurring problem, of which I'm unable to isolate successfully:

The main problem :-

-- Game freeze-ups --

Common during changing of multiplayer maps. And it starts at the end of the map loading, when it is verifying client data.
And it requires a button reset, unable to ctrl+atl+del or alt+tab.

Normal settings are: 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz, anti-aliasing OFF, 100% distance, dynamics at medium, the rest either at high or medium. Problem still happen when all set to medium.

This same problem occur at high settings [1280 x 1024, all high, sometimes with anti-aliasing ON or OFF], but I don't use them for multiplayer maps anyway, I use 'em only for taking screenshots from downloaded recorder maps. But the game freeze-ups happens only in-game.

Other notes of interest:

-Sound card, graphics card drivers and game patches are all up-to-date
-I cannot really say when I crank the resolution to 1280 x 1024 {settings mostly medium}, the freeze ups occur more or less, but I can say it still occurs.
-This happens FAR less or UNLIKELY when in single player.
-I've re-installed the game {according to some troubleshooting guide}.

What say you?

Work? You mean no freeze-ups at all?

I can't remember really, maybe got. But I have good hardware, why settle for less. smile.gif

A big question is why does the freeze-up commonly occur at the end of the loading of multiplayer maps, during changes?

I think I'll try low settings for a few days laa. See if got freeze-ups or not.

Ooooh, forgot to tell: If it is stuck during loading time, music plays normally, continuously, if stuck in-game, repeating sound.
