If your laptop support 5.1, it should at least have 3 3.5mm ports else digital out. It's uncommon for laptops to have 3 output though. But mine, Dell studio series do have 3 output. The first headphone port for front L/R, second headphone port for rear L/R and third is a line in which also works as output for center/LFE. Tadaaaa 5.1 xD

My lappie doesn't have 3 x 3,5mm jack. Only 1 available. But I already try this DA5000 PRO on it, and I releaved that the sound is coming out from all the speaker.
Maybe it is not as good as the real surround thru 5.1 ch, but for now it is oke.
I also try this on my Samsung LCD tv, and it also have the effect of surround, even the output from LCD is also from stereo only, maybe the SRS truSurround helps it tongue.gif

But the best results is only from my PC which has real 5.1 ch, the sound is good -just good, coz maybe I still need to upgrade my soundcard for the best result- thumbup.gif , especially for game.

Btw, anybody knows the good tweaking for this DA5000 PRO for the best sound output?

Oh... That means you're connecting in stereo mode then da5000pro upscale it to 5.1. Your rear speaker should be really in your "rear" for the surround effect. I don't think SRS TruSurround will do anything though. Maybe just the effect of Left and Right is more significant as it's playing through 5 satellites not 2 in 2.1 speaker sets. Just my 0.20

Oh I see.. so actually the da5000 pro can upscall the stereo to 5.1 sound..
Yes I should put those rear satellites in my back/ side, I still waiting the speaker stand so I can put the satellites there on my ear level.

what is the recommended music player actually to plays the mp3? I use the WMP, but looks like the sound of music is not at their best..

Anybody has experience with Edifier 5.1 DA5000 PRO? I have a problem with my system, when I start the system, those rear satellites make a crackle sound once, only once every time, but it is annoying, since the crackle sound is loud enough and can wake anybody who sleep near the system. Is it normal for the speaker with 5.1 ch?

Is it normal if my Edifier has a cracking sound (sounds like: "TEEET" but very LOUD) from the rear satellites when turn it on, or returning from mute? I use DA5000 PRO just a month, then this annoying issue is coming..
The cracking sound is only coming from those rear speaker. When I take off the cable from one of the satellite, the cracking sound is gone, but when all the rear satellites are on, this annoying sound is back again.
I am afraid this will break my speaker soon or later..

Need help from Edifier masters..

well it seems like my S530D didn't perform very well in the low frequency sub-bass section XP

maybe it's your soundcard that cause all this annoying beeps?

It is not my sound card, because I already try to remove all the source input to the speaker set, and when I turn it on, the sound is still there. The interesting one is, when I remove one of my rear satellite (SR or SL), the sound is gone, but when both rear speaker is attached, that annoying sound is coming back again.. hmm.gif
