Guys, my earphone bud285 right side have some weird sound when I try to stuff(especially adjusting the position)  it in my ears.
I tried different rubber and also tried to stuff in to my left ears but the sound still there...  cry.gif
It sounds like "Clicking" in my ears. Is this a defect?
Note: The ear phone is not being plugged yet.

i think that's pretty normal for sealed IEM. especially with those triple-flange one, it's like putting cotton bud to my ears... advantage is you get superior seal compared to open-type IEM.

hi guys, just bought edifier e3100 speakers
1st time using edifier, any user can share the setting for listening to music for wmp?
thanks

as night mentioned EQ is subjective to individual, and your own speaker and room itself. best just leave any EQ and other sound enhancements off. unless you feel you are not satisfied with the sound.

Yea I did read on your input however nismo 91 posted:
So I thought that i was not able to get the back speakers working because of the wrong audio output. Was wondering if i could get something like this http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-D3-Digital-Conv...0190551-2536661 to fix the problem?

that dac can only converts stereo signal. you still can't get 5.1 sound using those. only those dac or more specifically decoder can decode dolby digital / dts signal into 5.1 channel analog that R501 supports.

I also tired with this problem. Now, under negotiations to upgrade to other model instead of RMA because I am totally  lost confidence on this model. ( 2 weeks using 2 brand new edifier M1370, same issue happen) rclxub.gif
Some more, the dealer now telling me that their technical people can't reproduce the problem as I stated.  sweat.gif
So, I attached a video link here just to share the issue I am facing even with the brand new replacement set

I just got mine back from AllIt.

After a few days the sound come back again.  sad.gif on the right.  rclxub.gif

the sound from the video sounds like open ground issue. if it is, then no doubt the dealership cant replicate the issue at their site. my other speaker used to give this sound at some time of the day, indicating it is really sensitive to electricity changes (voltage drops or spikes).

all i can say, try to bring it to your friend house and check if the humming sound exist. if it is, then your electricity line is not to blame.

well in that case, i guess, there is something wrong inside it. if i were you i probably check for ground loop issue, by touching the metal parts of the subwoofer / speakers. if the humming is gone, it's it. (beware of electrocution!) not blaming your electricity this time, but it could be bad solder job inside the subwoofer.

if all else fail, it's probably bad batches of M1370 you got, or just plain bad luck or both.

The problem is was reproduced by Steven (wonder how is his unit now? Any update from him?) on the right speakers as well. His unit is new 1 as well.

Ground loop - Should it effect all brands of speakers as I can't reproduce the effect on other brand speakers on the different plugs around the house.
*
if the ground loop is at the source (i.e. laptop) then yes it will effect all speakers connected to it. if the ground loop issue is at your speaker amplifier however (as i have noted before, bad solder job) then only your speaker will hum. a way to test is by touching metal part of your speaker. if the sound is gone, then yes, it is a bad solder job inside.

hey guys. i have a tips for those of you who're using Edifier C3 and claim there's not enough bass. This can be applied to other models too.

First off, my Cambridge Soundworks Megaworks 550 stopped working when i came back from a month of holiday. Being busy with work, I decided to accept it as a loss and not fix it anymore. Previously spent so much time and effort to fix the subwoofer and even replace 2 satellites which i accidentally dropped.

At the edge of deciding whether to sell or throw the subwoofer away, I came across a very interesting idea: use my Creative Inspire 2400 amp to drive the subwoofer. At first I was hesitant, because the amp only uses TDA8510J and 18VA transformer. I estimated it to juice out 10W of power to the subwoofer channel, thinking that it wouldn't be able to drive a 8" 150W megaworks sub properly. The subwoofer cone is dual-voice coil (DVC) type with 8 ohm each, so paralleling them will make it a 4ohm sub.

Attached Image
So I tried it anyway, with some thin piece of wood as the backplate with added MDF that i found laying for added rigidity. Upon completing the assembly, to my surprise, the MDF almost wasn't strong enough to withstand the bass of the subwoofer, even when it was given a mere 10W of power, with the bass knob at the lowest level to prevent distortion and clipping. Even at lowest setting at the bass knob, it was much louder than it was on maximum of the original 5.25" 15W subwoofer cone.

Due to the high level of failure of Megaworks / Gigaworks PC speaker, i believe many of you can find those faulty sub for a very cheap price, and salvage the subwoofer cone itself. If a 10W amp can drive this subwoofer, sure the 30W C3 amp can drive it better. Edifier C3 already uses 8" driver, so it's just a direct swap. Just a note to remember, start with lowest level of bass setting on the C3 and raise slowly until you notice any distortion.

Anyway apologize if this doesn't involve Edifier product, but I was a proud owner of multiple Edifier speakers. It's a shame I don't have my R501 anymore, otherwise this subwoofer will be planted there laugh.gif
