Business is not about profit margin only la ... it's about promotion, customer base, location, service, etc. Many shops close due to these factors. If sell cheaper but can sell more quantity, total profit can come out the same. If compare overhead costs, then online shop (forum / website) is the cheapest - less rental etc. but yet shops like XL can survive is because of their locations, service, etc. QUOTE(noisetrigger @ May 27 2011, 10:14 AM) Those shops closed suddenly precisely because they are selling 30-50 cheaper. The margin of profit for collectibles are already ridiculously low and among some of the lowest in the field of business. When one is already operating on such low margins, the "buang harga" method will only hurt their margin even more. It will soon reached a point where you can't make enough to cover your operating costs even if it is only the owner himself running the store. I always wonder when other toy shops here will learn about this. For decades people have been doing the same thing in this line and in the end, everyone also die cause people seems more intend on ruining the market for each other rather than making it grow. |

Nice setup, thespawnx. Am I seeing correctly? Are the glass shelves supported by those wires only from the top? That means the shelves can sway/move when shaken? I'm thinking of doing cabinets for my statues but thinking which method is best to support deep shelves (~40cm) with heavy items. Ikea shelves are not deep enough (~25cm) So far, I'm thinking of these wall metal bars for support:- ![]() QUOTE(thespawnx @ Jun 9 2011, 03:09 AM) share my latest hot toys collection & display pics here...hope u guys enjoy! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i have bought, sold and trade some hot toys, especially hot toys mchael jackson line has been given up by me. now i just want to focus on Movie Master Series. if you want to see my previous hot toys collection, you could check out my blog http://leecheekheng.blogspot.com ... t-and-hot-toys.html |
