IM717...was very interested in getting it a while ago
But after thinking about it...i barely use my portables, so cancel plan and spend more on full sized phones
Would be a great buy though, read up alot about it on head-fi

I wouldnt agree with your recommendations
Anyway i think only a few stuff can be called Generally Recommended under a certain budget
The rest are up to preferance, not a good idea to recommend it to everyone

I've tried the Senn MX400 which is supposed to sound very close to the 500, didnt like them at all

IEM - In-ear monitors, aka canalphones. Those kinda earphones that are inserted into your ear canal
Earphones - The normal small stuff that comes stock with every mp3 player
Headphones - The traditional phones with the band going over your head. But i guess behind-the-neck, clipons and newer styles could be called this too?
Headset - Headphones with a microphone

supra-aural etc...cant remember which is which liao
