facing a big problem here .
flashed to Cyanogen Mod EAV5 and Ubuntu Kernel .
when I wanted to do BATTERY CALLIBRATION , it's says my phone is NOT ROOTED .
I am very sure that I rooted it before I flash . I was on Phantom Sky previously .
So , I go to z4root to re-root . It fails . I then un-root it and root back . Fails too . how ?

Hey there sifu, this is my first post, although I've been following this thread for too long biggrin.gif
And I am proud to say finally I bought the mi300 last sunday biggrin.gif..

@Youloong118.
You can try to boot into recovery via Rom manager, then got to advance menu, and wipe battery stat, does the same as battery calibration, but at much lower level.. good luck biggrin.gif Am using CM7 EAv5 with Ubuntu EA#3 too biggrin.gif

As for my phone, I've changing between ROMs almost everyday. tongue.gif
so far the most stable are Phantom Sky v1a and CM7 EAv5 with Ubuntu EA#3 kernel..

For now I'll be laying low for a while and stay with CM7 + Ubuntu kernel (reflashing over and over again strains tongue.gif ), although I'd like to see if there any fix for the proximity sensor and light sensor in CM7 sad.gif.. Any ideas sifu?

EDIT : Already fix the proximity sensor issue when in calls biggrin.gif Go to Settings -> Call settings -> Enable "Always use proximity"

Now just the automatic backlite issuer sad.gif

the problem is my phone cannot be ROOTED ._.
*
There are several factors that might be the cause, one is that Battery Calibration app maybe were not design for Gingerbread, 2nd, it might be that the phone is indeed not rooted, though when it comes to CM7, it is almost 100% pre rooted, have you installed ROM manager and flash recovery? if yes, your phone is already rooted and the problem reside within the app (Battery Calibration). If not, then you can root your phone using GingerBreak.

If the problem is indeed only the app, then I would recommend wiping the battery stat from the recovery mode, rather than using any app. After wiping the battery stat, it is recommend to use Juice defender the first thing after reflashing a ROM. smile.gif

Bro, mind telling wuts the price u got it for and where sweat.gif ?
*
Hmm, I got it for RM520 (Froyo 2.2.2 stock) + RM15 for Screen proc. at Karamunsing KK
Here in Kota Kinabalu, the price remains the same, I've seen one maxed around RM560 sad.gif
Well, I can't help myself and ending up buying it, still, don't regret it as this is a great phone icon_rolleyes.gif

YESH ! it's the battery callibaration app .. but after I click UNROOT in my z4root app . It can't be rooted anymore . before that , i still can use titamium backup and rom manager . but after I clicked unroot , it cannot be rotted any more .
and
NOW I CANNOT CONNECT TO WIFI . it was fine yesterday
*
Try clearing Data/full reset and Dalvik, if that fails then reflash.

Hmm, all I can think of is a full reflash.
Using SUT LR, flash the firetrap 1.1, provided by the first post of this thread, it is recommended as it is pre-rooted, install ROM Manager, flash clockworkmod, then flash CM7 all over again and try not to use battery calibration when using Gingerbread ROMs. Also always wipe battery stat via Recovery mode after each flash.

I've learned that If you have a good stable rom + kernel combo, write it down for future reference, and try to stick with that ROM tongue.gif Saves you from reflashing over and over again and save the hassle on backing and restoring your app again and again, plus you can save those precious SD card read/write cycle. nod.gif

I know, The price suddenly jumped after it was discontinued here. sad.gif I have checked Center Point, found out it was priced at RM530, last checked the cheapest are AP sets (I was surprise that a CSL phone on AP warranted ). The RM560 one were on Mudah.my, so I won't bother looking for it.

I also heard rumor that there are some hardware revision with mi300 priced at 500+, last revision before CSL stopped importing it from Commtiva (Commtiva still selling it as far as I know) and come with Froyo as stock, 2.2.2 to be exact, don't know where CSL got the ROM, as CSL website still mentioned it as 2.1 as stock.

All and all, I already bought it, even though it is a little sad if it drops price after I bought it, still won't regret it biggrin.gif

Thinking on making my own ROM mod if I got some time biggrin.gif
Also thinking on porting the 2.6.35.x kernel to CM7 based ROMs, as I've seen not many are available currently.

EDIT : I've checked the website and it said froyo, lol, sorry for that. And It said that is has MSM 7227-1 chipset, different then the default MSM 7227 from original Mi300. biggrin.gif

Yeah biggrin.gif
But I need to lay low on flashing for now, need a phone for everyday use right. I'm on CM7 eav5 SuperAOSP 8.6 kernel. Stable enough with no issue except for the automatic backlight issue, any solution?

Waa, Mi410, I like ~~ biggrin.gif
I was thinking on buying it for my first droid, but I guess I wasn't patient enough, and I am not a fan of large phone, 3.7 is max imo for me.

Overall the Mi410 is a great phone, with pure multi touch capacitive screen, not like the mi300, two point multi touch only..

i need some help.. i have problem with wifi tethering.. when i want to use it , it cannot be detected by other device.. currently i using CM7 EAv5 with Ubuntu EA#3.. anyone can help :-(
*
I noticed it too, no matter what kernel I've used, currently I'm using SuperAOSP 8.6 AW, and I can confirm that WiFI hotspot isn't working as well sad.gif

QUOTE(youloong118 @ Sep 27 2011, 04:36 PM)
Battery life for EAV5 is not that good . Any way to improve it ?
*
Try different kernel, I do recommend SuperAOSP 8.6 AW, and set it to smartass as CPU governor, if you have trouble connecting to USB, try SuperAOSP 8.0 RC. Both should give an improvement in battery life, although will not be the same as other Froyo ROM, I suspect Gingerbread have a little more process,
Still, CM7 does a good job keeping available RAM above 80mb, which is indeed great biggrin.gif

QUOTE(am cascadia @ Sep 27 2011, 09:06 PM)
but i see on youtube,

many gameloft hd can play on mi-300..

asphalt5 too...
*
You can overclock if you like, although 800MHz is an absolute max, don't go above, confirm on mi300 with MSM 7227-1 chipset. You'll need a better battery also, as the stock battery doesn't do good with the rapid discharge, I myself have to revert back to 600MHz max from 768MHz, as the battery can easily get to 52*C sad.gif Can't wait to get the sunglobal ones..

wow, ur CM7 (GB) got 80MB free RAM?? mine is around 40-50MB only.
Which version u using? EAV5?
*
Indeed, I'm using EAv5 biggrin.gif, although this is with Ubuntu #3 Kernel, I'm using SuperAOSP 8.6 AW now, and I have to say my free RAM drop to 70 - 50mb according to what service it's running. Since I've install the Facebook app (I've like the web app more, but for the sake of syncing, I've kept the app installed) and enabling the home app (launcher pro) to stay in memory, it stays around 45mb free.
You can help increasing free memory by enabling Comcache at 26% and enable purging of essets, although with results may vary from device to device.

Another question, is it ok for me to release a custom ROM here in Lowyat.net?

*
Yes nod.gif
Thanks bro biggrin.gif

I'm planning on making a simple one for the first, including replacing ADW Launcher with LauncherPro, some kernel tweaks and custom settings specially for our beloved mi300 biggrin.gif
Why not, Indonesians have one also tongue.gif

Thanks biggrin.gif

Although where should I post if I'm done with the ROM?

2600 posts and still more to come biggrin.gif . Does the OP still selling this phone? We should make a thread for Mi300/Commtiva z71 variant general discussion. And still linking the OP of this thread, there are soo much info that can be learn from the OP of this thread.

I'm compiling the rom right now.. for the first release, it will be based on gingerbread 2.3.7, tweak ubuntu #3 kernel, and optimized the lovable nexus LWP for less process usage. Better battery usage and lightweight also. Will not include ADWlauncher though, included launcherpro as default system launcher. Should I include swap support or not? As it is debatable on its pros and cons.

about swap, i don't know.. but maybe u should include its support.. hmm.gif
*
I'm currently making a thread soon in the Lowyat Android section, if I may. So look forward it later smile.gif
I messed up some setting, and have to recompile again. lol. Compiling took at least 6 hours blink.gif But will be done pretty soon biggrin.gif
I will included Swapper 2 in the ROM, it allows users to enable or disable Swap at will.

Just passing by,is there any official update to Android 2.2/2.3 from CSL?
*
I've scout the site for any download, but none available. sad.gif
Although there are an update for mi350 (Gingerbread), but I guess it is only accessible on CSL retail store.

EDIT : already posted a new topic about the ROM, head on there biggrin.gif

I see,thanks for the effort.
Right now I'm still using the stock 2.1..bought the phone last April.

Never really bothered to update to higher android version..as this version is good enough for my daily usage - my longest record of battery usage is currently 2 days +  with minimum usage, some wi-fi,calls and texts and most of the juice went to phone idle and cell standby.

But on the not so pleasant side, games and some applications are not so smooth, compared to my brother's Mi320(or was it Mi310?) which is on android 2.2 upon purchase.I can't move apps to SD,which is a function that I really missed.

I wanted to update, but my most worries lies in the battery lifetime since I'm already comfortable charging every 2-3 days.I think I'll try CM7 rom..how is the battery usage?Any difference between v5.1 and v.5?
*
indeed, using official rom is the way to go for stable everyday phone. you might want to stay on 2.1 if you want a stable phone, or update to official 2.2 from spice or apanda. you can also root your current 2.1 to set your cpu to 600mhz to eliminate lag. although updating to froyo and above proved to be worth in terms of general performance

Added on October 4, 2011, 12:51 amWhat is the CPU clock speed of Mi3-00? If possible what brand(maker) of the ARM chip?
*
Thanks for the link bro biggrin.gif
For the question, mi300 uses ARM6 cpu by Qualcomm (msm7x27 chipset) clocked at 600mhz with max overclock to 800mhz.

anyone read the CSL mobile info oct 2011?

1 phone that took my interest. The mi357. Comes with 650mhz CPU (still not confirmed which chipset), Gingerbread and, if what they wrote is true, 3.5 IPS capasitive touch screen. Like IPS panel? that is interesting.

hi Mi300 user..
from GSMarena link
http://www.gsmarena.com/spice_mi_300-3641.php

is it true that Mi300 has no 3.5mm jack??
i really wanna buy it if it comes woth 3.5mm jack
it is true that CSL has stop production for this phone and replace it with Mi320?
*
Hi there,
Well, some info that you can find there are misleading.
It does have a 3.5mm standard audio jack, capable of mic control. Pretty good sound quality too biggrin.gif (depending on software preference). Place on top of the phone along with the power button, same as other smartphones out there.

About the production, I've heard rumors that it is discontinued, but still, there are no official notice that CSL discontinued it. Until now CSL is selling it like hot cakes, specially for those who starting to learn Android powered phones, and android developers. The mi300 is also featuring in the latest CSL stock clearance sale, so my advice? Go to any store, try and feel the phone like I did, and buy it while stock last. I'm sure it is worth your money biggrin.gif
