Wanted to overclock my PC as it is slow.
Do i need to get a cooler if i overclock?

You need a better cpu cooler and better ventilation case.

u've open a lot of new thread regarding ur pc..y not open one and ask all of it in it

You can start by installing a cpu cooler.CM 212 Plus is highly recommended by alot of people.
And if you case can install fan do install it so you will have a better air ventilation or you can change the case.
I guess you are using LGA775 right?

It depends on how much ram do you have and the speed.You are using ddr3 or ddr2?

CPU cooler by cooler master is about Rm80-100(Model 212 Plus).Got a few seller in LYN here.You can search.Find the best price and trusted seller.

You want to OC your cpu right using BIOS i guess...

1GB ddr2. There is a guy who tell me to get ddr3 and upgrade from there, because ddr2 will soon be gone.
but i still dont know worth it or not.

R u sure DDR2 slot can support DDR3 both of this ram has different layout.I don't think can fit.

i mean get a new computer, and a new ddr3 ram. not upgrade straight from ddr2. I know it cant.

Owh ok LOL ....This days RAM are not expensive you can get a single DIMM 4GB DDR3 1333MHz for only RM125.You can assemble your own PC up to your spec,requirement and budget.

what about ddr2? seems like overclock doesnt work for me now

You can get a 2GB DDR2 Ram.How about your GPU what r u using?

maybe this will help a lot if u want to ask opinion...

1. what proc do u used...
2. ur idle and load temp...
3. how much u want to overclock...
4. is ur psu enough to doing overclock...

maybe some of them can suggest u base on this..

If only want overclock a little for fun , just use the stock cooler . Keep the money for funding other hardware .
