Hi, anyone installed a Double Layer security door before?
How do you find it? Will it be inconvenient to unlock 2 lock?
Plan to install security door but I prefer to have a grill for better air circulation, the normal window type opening on single layer security door feels very insecure in my opinion.

Did anyone heard of Shinjin Homewares Marketing? Located nearby Plaza Perabot 1 Puchong, they are local Manufacturer and heard from my fren their quality, after sales service is good. Most important is their commitment are always meet in time. But compare with other their price is a bit higher

1 of my fren told me that actually Top Security door is New edge, but now New Edge are mainly doing production only, so they open many showrooms + New Edge's name alrdy bad in the market.

Ya. I heard a lot of good review for shinjin too. Their product brand name is Secure. Their door panel are all made locally, but lock set is made in china, and their door hinge is stainless steel unlike others which uses normal steel with powder coat. I was quoted by a local shop for rm2700 for a 3' double layer with 304 stainless steel grill instead of 201 china stainless steel(if choose 201 less rm300).

Last few days my fren call me and she told me that his father's house are using Shinjin Door about 4years already, there's no problem at all, unlike her door, her hubby bought at exhibition, less than 2 year the knob already spoiled. She call the dealer, they quote her RM300 for the twist at internal door (Not the handle), if whole set lock change + this & that nearly about RM700.00. This lock is from china! Is anyone think this price is reasonable?  My friend call Shinjin and try ask for the price, they quote her much much cheaper than her Dealer.

Not sure whether different dealer can repair or not. Cause the size of the lock set & design might be different I think.

Becareful of the lock in security Door. It can get jammed.

Sometimes the security door is too "secure" that it secure you outside when the lock is jammed. sweat.gif
I have been surveying around and came across lots of brands, try to spend a little more and go for a brand with better quality. You can easily notice the differents between a "Buy 1 Free 1" brands and those better ones, especially on the hinges, finishing, and lockset.

Hi, i would like to ask is it New Edge Security Door good enough? I mean the quality?

Thank you

IMO, just normal only. Try to look at YSE and Secure. If I not mistaken Secure is from Shinjin marketing and they got a factory in Puchong. Price is slightly higher, but the quality and after sales service is good according to experience from relatives.

Which brand is having this type of hinges? Went to top security door they are having year end promo.
Quoted:

6' x 7' + 3' x 7' = rm4639 (with local 304 grilles, China grille Rm3499)
5' x 7' + 3' x 7' = rm4349 (ditto, China = rm3399)

How was it?

Try to survey for the price for YSE & Secure. I have been to many of this show room, so far, this 2 brands I found is having better built quality in my opinion. And also there are a post mentioned about shinjin marketing providing good after sales service, and they are the manufacturer for Secure brand.

just surveyed two companies for a 3 x 7 double layered door

shinjin is 2000, 304 steel, inclusive of installation and delivery.. manufactured locally
janus is 3000, exclusive of 500 installation and 200 delivery.. import from china

Hi, mind to share more on the shinjin you mentioned? I have surveyed few shops including calling to shinjin, but the double layer security door with 304 steel will cost about RM2.4k. So your price of RM2k is really good.

my bad, the shinjin that I ordered is single layer but can open inside layer to let air through. I find that is sufficient already since the door itself has quite a number of security features to deter if not significantly delay the break in time.

the original price is 1700 (incl installation and delivery) but since my door size is not standard 3 x 7, i have to custom made for additional 300. still reasonable in my opinion. The fact that they manufacture locally and able to provide immediate assistance gives me a peace of mind in case the door or lock mechanism is faulty (fingers crossed).

so im guessing ur double layer at 2.4k (increment of 700 from 1700) is quite reasonable as well

suggest u to drop by their factory to visit them

Yes. I like their quality as compare to other manufacturer which provide buy 1 free 1 promo. I have asked before, for single layer, the price is about RM1.7k as you mentioned.
The reason I prefer double layer,
1) Can let 1 layer open while still having another layer locked for better air flow. Door in door design can do so, but opening the middle portion looks a bit flimsy.
2) Before opening the door, I can have a clear view of the car porch, just to avoid any robbers hiding at car porch and waiting for you to open the door at dawn, as I have to leave my house early morning to work.

However, there are some thing to be noted when using double layer, the door frame thickness is 8", which might looks slightly protruded out from the wall if the wall thickess is only 5-6".

Ok, guys. From your posts, i have shortlisted YSE & Shinjin security door. Just wondering if they do have this kinda design. My budget is below 2k for a 3' x 7' 2 layers powder coated.

Any feedback please?

By the way, this logo/sticker is from shinjin, right? Can someone confirm?

Yes. The logo is secure brand from shinjin marketing.
I recently ordered 3x7 single layer, rm1.8k for my backdoor. And 3x7 double layer, rm2.5k for front door.
Both using 304 local ss, which only have 1 design of horizontal round bars.
Those fancy design mainly are china 201 ss, which is less durable.

Anyone got some review after using security door from Shinjin / Top Security / New Edge?
*
From my survey and experience, shinjin price is slightly higher, but the product quality is good. I have visited top and new edge showroom and both products have similar quality, try search this thread and you can find some experiences from other forumer on the brands. If you can afford the slight differences on the price, go for shinjin.
