Can we retain the exiting grill door while installing security door? Prefer to open the door while
at home and only leave the grill door closed

I think with the security door, you dont need anymore grill. With the security door, you alread have 2 doors in one. You can choose either a mini door (they are called door in door) or another door behind the security door that comes with it. U can leave the inner door open with the outer one locked.

A security door actually is designed to do away with the need of a grill.
You just leave the small door(whithin the security door) open to get the same effect. wink.gif

The grill could act at double protection for breaking in. Otherwise, the intruder just need to
break the security door and get into house smile.gif

The main security door has a double lock. The inner door has another lock.
With the grill and another padlock, that is a triple + double lock.

Who say security door is hardly break in? They give you warranty if break in can claim from then?

I seen security door been force open before. Also seen security door lock jam due to poor quality.

anyone using security door from Morris Decor? any comment on the quality?
sales person told me their doors are from China.
i was quoted rm3600 for front 5'x7'+back 3'x7'combo include delivery+installation, reasonable?

is there anything we can do to prevent the lock from jamming itself? any maintenance/pre caution we should take?

Hi,

Have you checked security door package from Top Security? If not mistaken 5x7" + 3x7" with delivery & installation is $3488 only.
*
Yes. Ordered mine with Top Security .. RM3488 for 5x7" + 3x7" with delivery + installation..
However, the installation do not include the cement and touch up on the door frame. .
It is advisable to have a contractor on standby to do so ..

Just placed an order with goldenbesttrading for 2 stainless steel door 3X7 for RM4.6k.

I understand this is not 304 material but using 201 material as the seller informed me.

The reason why i didn't opt for top edge even though they quoted me rm2k each for the stainless steel door (they claim is 304 material), they couldn't arrange a contractor to do the wet work.

GBT quoted me everything inclusive of removal, tiling and plastering.

One thing i do notice a difference in top edge door, they have additional security pin lock on the hinge side.

I hope i made the right decision of trying out china door. gulp.

Most of the security door using 1 key to trigger upper, middle, lower lock. When u use the key to open the middle lock, it using one straight round metal to trigger the upper and lower lock to unlock by pushing up+down. If this round metal not straight, in future might face can't open the door. After this, i purposely go survey this type of door which can "see thru" the inner part of this security lock. I further raise my concern to another security door supplier, he told me that modern security door eliminate this issue by reduce the distance for this 3 lock.
