Today went to low yat to get the SP..I saw there is a few Suppliers is supply the Fake A.K.A Smartcover for Ipad2..

For your information , The Packing on the Smartcover is excabcly same like Original (Except) Plastic Cover is Hard compare to fake one is Soft..

Please take note of this.. "Cheap no Good , Good no Cheap "

they can't sell it cheaper la, else u know sure fake one..but the actual cost is cheaper than you can't expected.

I can understand if it's selling around rm10-20 for that kinda quality which shows in the video but Rm120? Anyway it's you guys own money and decision...also who will have the last laugh.

If that imitation sells for RM100+, those sellers can GTFO... Well LYP shops are known to scam ppl for their accessories anyways, not the first time.. Last time during the 1st iPad, there's 1 exact same 'leather' casing where I saw in eBay for RM50, they were selling for RM200...

Smartcover, either get original or don't get it... Even the original one scratched my gf's backside of the iPad for a bit after a while because of the clip on/off magnet... I really wonder what damage the fake one would bring @.@

I don't see iPad as luxury item, it's not even the most expensive tablet on the market.

I scout for Sony nex cover last time many shops selling for rm150-200? Then I bought in eBay for rm70 including registered postage from hong kong.

It is not a luxury item. Period. Sports car is a luxury item. A tablet is just a tablet. How can it be luxury item when tens of millions of ppl are having it?

agreed... All those designer's clothing, they're not called luxurious goods for nothing, even if I can afford one or two, they're still called luxury item no matter what @.@.. Millions of people have them also, still that doesn't change the fact it's designer's clothing...

Hmm , if the fake smart cover quality is as shown in the YouTube video and selling for a price at the least RM 50-90 price range

I'm ok to add a few bucks more and get the original one instead of getting an imitation which will get spoilt in matter of time

My view on purchasing item

i'm not against buying fake stuff... but charging a full ori price for a fake item I don't agree. Anyone selling fake stuff shud just go ahead and say "this item is not original, hence the lower price"... I'd buy in a heartbeat if I like it...

Don't deceive others and make a profit out of it.

Ipad is not, but their accessories are.. Im puzzled as well as to why only Ipad owner will buy 'clothing' for their tablet and not other brands.

I'm not sure if this analogy of yours is logical, but since it's already a sports car, it might as well comes with sports rim...

the correct analogy should be, "got money to buy sports car, but no money to pump V-power Racing..."

But I guess it's always the Malaysian mentality... got money to buy Apple but no money to buy AppleCare...

Apparently, Apple did not earn much on the Smart Covers ... China factories try to copy 1-to-1 and only manage to reduce price to about USD20-25 (compared to the original USD39.90)... I think more than 1 factory produces these and I saw a post HERE that the first attempts were really lowsy, it falls apart and smells bad ... not sure about the new batches, they might have improved production already...

True. I went lowyat and I tried those 'original' smart covers. It won't fit the ipad2 nicely and the magnet cannot stick like the original does.

Dealer's price is RM85. Can check it out at CELLMEX or TELEYES

just ignore them , they want to get cheap item and risk their ipad . by all means go ahead , we get what we know is best for our own item , when they break theirs or anything we can laugh at them .

Ha ha I bought this together with iPad 2 in bundle with screen protector in melaka for extra RM150.
No wonder the boss is wearing a Oyster Rolex Boy half gold.
But I can say the quality is really good and with magnetic cover can switch on the iPad if it is opened!

hey guys, i wonder whether anyone has problem where the clips and the silver rod on the smartcover are vry loose with each other

I bought the fake smart cover, actually it's oem or alike model, and pls dont go and buy those china made cheap smart cover, the cover won't hold to your screen strongly and will fall off when you reverse the iPad. So regret right now....
To know whether it is genuine, one of the steps is to check the box cover, for leather one the photo will feature cream color sc while for polyurethane one will feature blue sm. A lot of fake one out there only printed the blue one. So if u are about to buy leather one, if it's not cream sm featured on the box the it's basically fake.

i saw the ori smart cover selling at machine KLCC at the price of RM299.00 only, i turn tail and walk off b4 their sales walk near to me. seriously if somebody able to make a fake 1, and capable of performing like a real 1, who cares its ori or not.

i bought mine very fake smart cover. cover back and front with magnetic on the front. the front and back cover is 2 different colour.
so when close or open, it will goes to sleep or wake mode. so far i carry around, the cover will not drop.

the back cover is hard type and front cover is like usual magnetic type smart cover. To me as long as it cover the front and back, i am ok with it. be it real or fake, it does not matter as long it function same. so far i m happy with my fake smart cover.

there are many diff quality for fake smart cover. some with leather, some cover front only, some cover front and back, some front n back but soft type etc etc.

does it really matter if a smart cover works the same be it fake or ori?

What u said is totally different thing altogether..yours is substitute cover,not fake smart cover..TS stated that someone was trying to sell him fake smart cover,which is the physical look of the original and fake looks the same but if examine thoroughly,its actually different..fyi,original smart cover is ONLY to cover the front,not front n back(in case u dont know)..if it covers front n back,its not necessarily fake,just different type..coz some people dont care if its smart cover or not,as long as it serve the purpose to protect the ipad
