Dont know whether it is true or not. PP is better than PU in terms of durability and not that easy to break.

I'm taking structures and properties and materials this semester and coincidentally polymers are in my studies.

Polypropylene (PP) - good resistance to fatigue, tough and flexible (ductile), high melting temperature (can be exposed to greater temperature and retaining its shape) and good impact resistance.

Polyurethane (PU) - higher impact resistance than plastic, brittle (not that flexible) and excellent abrasion and tear resistance.

So the best material would be PP as it is ductile. When a material is ductile, it has higher toughness (able to last long).

PU on the other hand is brittle and hard. An example of brittle and hard material would be glass. What happens when you knock a common glass? It shatters.

Hope it helps. smile.gif
