nokia dont give things or no update, they will "step" nokia kaw kaw like rubbish nia...

so what's the point for all those events that nokia made for rangers?? just wasting their money only....

N8 got few useful things, it can play video files without need to convert or transfer from iTunes. I can hook up to HD-TV to watch the video/movie. Honestly speaking, many people using smartphones and iPhones didn't know this thing can be done... Just recently, we have "movie day" at friend's home, some of them thinking where is the video, when they see is Phone, they eyes blink in disbelief then can output to TV somemore, like some advance technology

Another thing I like is the YouTube downloader...

But the best is still the camera lo, plus can record HD video with audio capture capability.

Added on May 27, 2011, 1:20 amSo, the best is don't hope or expect anything. Just like photography event, don't expect to get anything; take it as an outing, meet up, activity with N8 owners; The "gift" is the extra icing on the cake.

We just have to remember, the purpose of the event is not to give us free gift (but if got, of course it's nice; but please keep to yourself if possible )

IMO, if you wanna shoot somethin, shoot it precisely.

Not all rangers/bloggers act like you mentioned. Not to forget we all have our own life too. it's not like everyone get a good time chatting, spamming, giving good inputs to this and other symbian based thread. Some are busy with works, some don't have good internet access all the times like majority of here have.

if they have a good point, I and other fellow rangers will also give good comments.

As an example, Nokia did develop music chip/processor/software for Symbian A LOT BETTER compared to other overhyped phones like SE, iphone/ipod and Motorokr. but if their browser sucks, why do we have to pretend it's good? Even with multitouch, I still prefer doing double tap to zoom in when browsing using default PR 1.0/1.1 browser. Then only they will improve. They did know their browser sucks because of majority voices.

but don't expect everyone is so nice. Maybe some are appropriate, with courtesy, maybe some are rude. it's life, man.

You think if our dear sklchan and aspire2006 didn't get their N8, do they will make those good mods, stunnings pictures and photography tricks, right in front of you. yeah, you can get maybe other mods from other forums, other piles of photography tricks, but they are real life example man. Our locals.

and also thanks to mod to impsoe no post count in this thread so then other people that still not owning N8 will know, they didn't just bought a phone from Nokia, they will get an amazing camera, good bunch of people who care to share tips, mods and other good stuffs with them. It's what happen with 5800, x6 thread and I hope this N8 thread will be a continuation to it.

disagree.rubbish phone or not,it depends.every phone definitely got their own pros and cons..the advantages of the phone fit your wants and demands,its a good phone then.For example,my girl friend need a REALLY LONG LONG BATTERY LIFE phone.so i bought her a Nokia 1616.it last for 2 weeks.1616 got nothing special,extraordinary functions but long battery life fulfill her demand so its a good phone for her.
For me,N8 undoubtedly is slow,UI ugly but 2 major things make me still keep it as my main phone.OVI MAPS+GARMIN.Camera which NONE of any other brand or OS can offer.

I REALLY WANT IT!!!!DESPERATELY!!!

Added on May 27, 2011, 2:20 amweb surfing experience in iOS(iphone 3g,3gs,4) is terrible,horrible for me.crash,lag,hang,no flash supported..nothing to compare with wp7 and android.although wp7(HD7) doesnt offer flash support but its REALLY FAST,SMOOTH and NEVER EVER LAG,HANG,CRASH.android(galaxy s,TAB,Incredible s) sometime lag a bit and hang but overall performance better than iOS.
FYI,those devices all tested without any jailbreak,rooting,hacking,modding,custom rom or whatsoever.all original.

I think most well not all are giving proper comments on Nokia devices.
Some may just highlight the goods of Nokia and ignore the bads of Nokia but some are really giving their thought and without the ranger event, you won't even get the atmosphere of sharing here in Symbian section LYN. Everything has its own flaw. Do you expect anyone to praise it even though it's bad? Like do you expect people to praise God if God if evil? O.O

Is it still available officially? Last I heard it was removed from App Store.
Anyway, it's likely not known to many, unlike other "nowadays" smartphones which native media player supports more file types, probably no conversion needed.

Sadly, I hardly touch the iPod Touch anymore even touch it's meant to be "Touch"
The iPad would be better choice now with its large screen giving better viewing and larger on-screen-keyboard; but lately, many "smart" tablets is releasing to the market.

haha. however, i don't think iPhone 4 or itouch can output to HDMI.

I rather have a laptop than iPad. At least with my little Alienware (yes, I still considered 13" little), I can play fable three like this with full graphic:



And Sims 3. And Oblivion. And Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2. And the incoming Skyrim.

For those portable games, I prefer ds. And planning to buy 3DS next year.

I think I have said this before. Nokia perhaps should just get hardcore BLIND supporter like you to be Rangers.
They want a CHALLENGE and want to show us, the iFaggers and Goblins, they can do a better job.
Why dont you check out the very first few post I criticize on S3 even before Radiance does her picking here.
When I got to the Rangers event, some of them already KNEW about my skepticism about Symbian and showed me they are using either an Iphone or Android phones to proved that Nokia does compare itself to its competitors. Knowing is one thing, deliver the promise is something else. You wanna know what I was being PROMISED in the initial Ranger event?

Gratitude? Have you ever think of those paying customer who buy N8 new and have to sent in for a mainboard change and worse come back with cosmetic damage. Have you ever think of those paying customer who buy a C6 and end up with a dead phone as well. Have you ever think of those paying customer who buy a N97 and it kept running out of memory. Did Nokia compensate them? HELL NO!!!

You can keep your passion of Nokia to yourself, period.
