Haha, me too. The reason i wont buy the smart cover cause it does not protect the back and like you stated, cannot make the ipad stand properly in certain positions.

Yeah, its not like we're gonna drop the ipad2 or something. We only need to protect it from scratches and the Invisible Shield will do the job just fine My ipad 2 will be so slim and sexy! <3
Be carefull, some reviews say that it wont stand properly in some certain positions, and the invisible shield wont cover the corners of the ipad. May get chips and scratches.

Dun worry. By that time, iPad 5 already out. And we're discussing how to queue that time.
I watched one of the youtube videos, and it looks standable enough for me (though will get knocked over if u push it with your hand). Well BestSkinEver confirms that its fully compatible with Smart Cover, so i'll get instead then.

For the 1st time, I would NOT apply any screen protecter for my new iPad2. I have been spending quite of sum on screen protecter since the early years of my gadget buying.
Since current gadget nowadays is on Gorilla glass...for once I will be brave enough to find out on my own if the Gorilla screen is really can stand any scratches on normal average usage.

gorilla glass is good. My N8 put with a lot of keys together inside my pocket, hear some scratch scratch sound, but when i took it out the phone doesn't have any scar at all.

For those who are getting the Smart Covers, you can still get the rest of the ipad 2 protected using Bestskinsever (i think better + cheaper than Invisible Shield) or using a compatible TPU case.

But switcheasy canvas comes with screen protector right?
Smart Cover is "smart" because Apple people are smart. They're sure a lot of people will just buy it to avoid the hassle of having to look for 3rd-party products. People will think, it's Apple, so it's good enough

Getting 1 myself from another forumer, hopefully gonna get it tomorrow as well
wow, good news then. BTW , is that a cheapo SP ?? if yes then better don't apply it, as it can degrade the colour output of the beautiful ipad 2 screen.
edit: if u don't mind to view best colour out from ur new toy, u may just apply it for safety purposes.

Just saw a youtube video, it shows Smart Cover Dirty easily by oil/dirt that may "collected" thru ur finger and when u use the smart cover as a stand. It really vanish my desire to buy it... how about u guys ?
A no-brainer question. You prefer your iPad to easily get dirtied rather than the cover?

Switcheasy is a good brand, I don't think they will bundle it with cheap SP, as the package itself is much more expensive compare to a normal smart cover.
I will see first how durable is the actual iPad 2 screen, then I will decide to apply an SP or not on it
