I'm confused about the 3DS region locking system . I want to get a Asian 3DS but then can it play US region games ? I see most of the shops here sell US region games .

Yes. It can. Since they're both the same region.

I wonder what is the weight and battery life compared to NDS lite. Is it true that it only last for around 3 hours when 3D mode is turned on? Exactly how good is the 3D depth? Will ones eye strained after prolonged use of say, 1 hour? Games like RE Merceneries and Revelation is kinda interesting.

Max 3D with max volume. No volume gives u another hour. And this is purely estimation though.

The depth is actually nice. But it still depends on the games. For example, MK7 in 3D, does the job, but it does not feel so engrossing.

Don't worry about the strain at the eye, worry about the strain of holding the console. that's tougher.

So in other words the console is very heavy eh? Is it heavier than the original iPad?

I'm thinking of playing RE Merceneries and the upcoming Revelations. Other upcoming games like Rune Factory 4 and HM series is another good reason to get it during the festive season of CNY heh.

No no. Its actually pretty light.

The only concern you're going to have is battery life. But, that depends on how long do you even have time to spend on the console. (Like me, i have around 1 hour to play a 50 hour game. )

I see. The battery performance is kinda weak if compared with NDS Lite, which kinda defeats the purpose of it as a portable device. I guess the graphic and 3D really draws the juice big time.

Well, it does increase the time that you need to charge it. But the play time shouldn't be that affected. besides, I don't really think its that wise to go on a 3 hour spree with a handheld. Most of the games are made in mission and chapter modes, minus Zelda though. That's a killer.

Does the 3DS have a fast forward option?

I have a Question and not sure anyone here can answer this but here goes..

There are rumors that the inevitable revision of the 3DS will be out this year. So lets say I'm planning on getting a US ver of the new 3DS, will I be able to transfer data from my Asian 3DS which I have right now to the new US version 3DS?

EDIT: So basically... Can 'Data Transfer' be performed between US and Asian 3DSes?

I doubt that there will be a revision for 3DS anytime soon as Nintendo had stated in their last statement that '3DS is a fully packed console from the beginning'. So there will not be 3DS-Lite until at least for another 1 or 2 years down the hill.
