Recently down trend of YTL share is partly attributed by EPF paring down its stakes. After EPF stop selling, the price should go up. It is very attractive now at 52-week low level.

Too bad I dont have spare money for the moment. Else want to accumulate a bit, since it is very attractive now to me. But I guess may take some time to rebound...

YTL eyes water and power projects in Johor?

Conglomerate YTL Group is actively pursuing infrastructure assets in Johor which may include water treatment and power plants, sources said.

It is understood that among the assets YTL is eyeing is Ranhill Energy and Resources Bhd’s water treatment plants in the state.

Sources said YTL had already started initial discussions to secure large infrastructure projects in Johor.

Ranhill has an exclusive licence to supply source-to-tap water to end-customers in Johor. According to reports, the current licence is valid till 2014 and renewable every three years.

Johor is the country’s second most populous state with about 3.4 million people as at 2012. It is estimated that water consumption in the state would grow by a compounded annual growth rate of close to 7% in the next seven years, underpinned by heavy investment in the property and oil and gas sectors.

also talks about YTL power 2000 kw bid is unlikely to win,so investors would be looking at its 1Bestarinet and the breakeven of its 4g operations

YTL Corp Q1 profit up 11.4% to RM594.9m

YTL Corporation Bhd’s profit rose 11.4% to RM594.9mil in the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2013 from RM534.10mil a year ago.

It said on Thursday revenue rose at a slower pace of 2.7% to RM5.21bil from RM5.07bil.

YTL group managing director Tan Sri Francis Yeoh Sock Ping said revenue growth was mainly from the group’s cement, property development and investment and hotels segments.

As for its cement business, competitive pricing resulted in a marginal decrease in the division’s profit despite a 9% revenue increase.

Its hotels segment’s revenue rose due to its three new Marriott hotels in Australia, although unrealised foreign exchange losses contributed to a slightly higher overall loss before tax for the division.

U buy stock not just for its dividend but also for capital gains when the price increase. If U just look at dividend yields, better invest in REITs which pays comparatively high dividends.
