One is the ipad 2 and the other is the ipad 1 but at the same price u get 3g connectivity albeit with a first generation device.

It (the ipad 1) may be heavier than the newer ipad you feel at the demo unit in Apple Premium reseller now. Just be aware of that. You may also run into compatibility issues in the future as more and more apps need ipad 2's processing power.
