Finally completed series 6 - spent over an hour fingering packets at Great Eastern Mall TRU after grabbing 10 random packs from TRU in Ikano last night. Got 2x Roman soldier, William Wallace, 2x Skateboard girl, 2x Spacegirl, robot, Courtesan (the girl with the fan), and the butcher last night, and got the rest today. Was lucky to get the Romans last night, as there were no Romans left in TRU Great Eastern! And there I was thinking they'd make a nice army - at least I got a few Aliens to add to the Alien Invasion team! smile.gif

TRU KLCC figures seem to be overpressed already (there was some poor chap there trying to find a Genie and robot, and didn't look like there were any there) - if you want to get some try TRU Ikano (or GE Mall if you don't need the Roman).

It was RM149.90 at TRU when I saw it a few days ago. Was hoping to get it cheaper at Brickboys but they said they didn't bring it in because they were worried it wouldn't sell.

Is the Space Alien rare in S6? I got 3 from my last press-press session, but they look so much better than the Alien Invasion aliens that I'm thinking of getting an army to fly those UFOs..

I have an alien to spare...got any S6 figures for spare?
*
Not really no. Just wondering. If it's one of those which lots of ppl want then I'll just let other people take them, but if it's one of those which nobody wants (like some of the kesian figures from the other waves - lots of those city figures come to mind) then I'll go and adopt them all!! smile.gif

I don't think only 1 in a box, the box was full but could have been mixed with older ones, someone could have gone through the box already. Many are selling full set of 16 at 180-200, so there must be 3 sets in a box or else it will not \be so cheap or maybe every box has different mix.
If all boxes contain the same numbers of each figures , there should be 3 Roman Soldier, at least according to this nice review http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63744
*
Romans are very popular troop builders, though, so most people will take more than one, as opposed to a figure like the chef or the skateboarding girl, which most people will just want one for the completion of collection purpose.

Other popular troop builders are Spartan warrior, Buckingham Palace Royal Guard, Elf warrior, Evil dwarf.. most of the castle-themed figures and the supernatural/special ones like Zombie (just need one person to dream of a zombie apocalypse diorama), Vampire, Genie, Robot etc.. In general it's the city figures which don't seem that popular for mass hoarding.

Nice!

I thought you also had Luke with the X-Wing, or is that someone else? Anakin and Obi-Wan too, even though they're the cartoon version.

I seriously doubt he got ALL of them from those random packs at TRUs. It's probable that he also bought in bulk from overseas or a certain seller, making them quite affordable/reasonable. I mean, at least that's what I'd do. Going through so many different boxes at so many different outlets just doesn't sound like a very good idea. Besides, it's not like there are a lot of the Roman Soldiers in each box. It's limited to just a few I believe. Just my two cents.
*
If he bought just Romans in bulk it would have been quite expensive... maybe he bought all the full boxes and now has a ton of other unwanted figures which he's trying to lelong on eBay?

He's changed some of the Roman soldier faces, so he probably opened a few wrong packs by mistake, or at least has another group of figs somewhere whose faces he used.

If you're dedicated, and more importantly have a friend working in Toys r Us who can give you inside information on when stock arrives (I think almost every scalper has inside information) I don't think it's hard to get 50 Romans on a Thursday morning from several TRU branches while everyone is at work.

Ah..... you called these guys scalpers. Twice I was raba-ing the S6 with fellow enthusiast at TRU and they are all looking for Roman soldier.
*
By scalper I mean someone who, knowing which items will be in demand, delibrately buys out the stock and then resells it at premium to those people who could no longer find it. Even if you bought all the Romans out there, but used them to build your own army, you're a collector, not a scalper! We're all collectors (I personally got 3 before I stopped)!! smile.gif Anyone we see at TRU pressing packets are usually collectors. The scalpers would be the ones waiting when the boxes are opened, I think, and won't use such low-tech methods as molesting packets - they'll probably use the dot-identification method or something.

Finish? Last week I went there got Minotaur, Bandit & Doctor. Before that in KLCC, I got Sleepy Guy, Robot & Djinn.
*
Either finished or they moved it somewhere where no one could see it. I guess I'll give it another week or so to make sure everyone who wants them can get them, then I'll go and sapu every alien I see! smile.gif

Went to TRU at KLCC and GE Mall today. Not even the sight of the white box of S6, Out of Stock. sigh....
*
Look at the bright side. It means they'll get a restock soon and we'll all have a chance at getting more Romans. Otherwise they'll be trying to sell off the unwanted remnants and all we'll get in the white boxes for the next few years are the city figures.

Finally completed my 2nd set of S6. Found 3 Roman Soldier at TRU today, couldn't believe my luck.
*
Congrats!! As long as they keep replenishing the stock everyone who needs them will eventually get them! In 4 series (2 of the series I bought the whole set at shops which pre-packed the set of 16) I've only ever missed 2 figures through casual pressing at TRUs, and one I managed to find eventually at scalper price in Amcorp Mall (the Musketeer). As long as you don't give up you should be able to find all you need.

I bought all my complete sets (S1-S5) from eBay or SG, and some loose S3-S5 here and there. S6 is one I have managed to complete, in fact 2 sets solely buying from TRU. I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt though it is more costly. I am just waiting to get a case custom made to display them all.
*
You're right! The thrill of the hunt is quite fun (as long as you get it eventually). For series 1 I press press, but couldn't get the ninja. So for series 2 and 3 I thought I'll play it safe and buy in 1 set from the shops like Brickboys and Toys Wiz. Sadly it became boring, and I decided I didn't want to buy any more. Then came set 4 and after seeing them in the shops a long time I decided to press press for fun, and bought a few, then more.. and more.. and then got all apart from the Musketeer. Then suddenly got a lot of hunger and drive to find that musketeer, and finally found him at goreng price, packed in clear plastic bag in AmCorp Mall flea market. Suddenly gian again, and when series 5 and 6 came, I went press press to get the whole sets, and I love them all again. Buying the whole set is convenient for collecting, but you really lose the thrill of the hunt.

Hai, i started collecting lego minifig since series 2, however i could not complete my series 2 which i still missing pharaoh and spartan warrior and series 5 (cave women, small clown, evil dwarf. ice fisherman, gangster, gladiator, lizard man and snowboarder guy). Could some one tell me, where i can buy those missing figures and complete set series 1. Thanks
*
Unfortunately, Spartan Warrior, Gladiator and Evil Dwarf are almost impossible to find at the regular toy stores these days (unless you get lucky and the staff suddenly find an unopened box in the corner and open it belatedly). You could probably still find the others if you see that particular colour pack for sale - series 2 is dark blue, 5 is light blue.

I went to TRU KLCC today to see if I could get lucky, but the white packs were already down to half, and a few were already lying on the shelf. Some poor Hasbro staff who was here to drop off some Hasbro stock (I think) was pressing - probably trying to get a Roman, and one of the TRU staff girls was helping him press. Like that we normal people sure no chance liao smile.gif

Prime: fellow Kreons.. we have infiltrated the elusive LEGO thread. Autobots... go and take out all the city and collectible minifigures.

Soundwave: Decepticons... kill all LEGO Jedis and Stormtroopers!  Leave no figs standing.
*
Kreons would be so much more attractive if they didn't come with the Kreos (yes, that way around. I can't imagine anyone buying the Kreos for the Kreos). Maybe one day Lego will end up with a Transformers franchise and we'll all be happy!! Who knows? It took them so many years to get the Lord of the Rings license.

good for u, i guess if am arent there when new box open, there no chance in getting the roman fig
*
Not really - you only need to be the first Roman-wanting person to reach the box after it's opened. If you visit TRU occasionally during weekdays you have a much better chance than only going on weekends.
