I just want to find out if the iPad2's screen is suppose to be scratch-proof like the iPhone4 and iTouch 4G?

owh ok cause i just got a hairline scratch on mine and i didn't know how it happened and was really surprised...

just use zagg,and you dont have to worry anymore.dont buy any cap ayam screen protector for your ipad.im using it right now.

Depends on usage i think , still will get scratch but i think its not so easy. Even my blackbery screen serve me well without any SP , machines guys told me their ipad demo set has been there for 6 months , with over hundreds hand touching it everyday yet it is still scratchless. LOL

i dont dare to left my iPad without a protector.Just scared on tiny dent or scratches on the screen.
Why not taking effort to buy thousand bucks gadget,but not protecting it.

i mean what's the point getting SP? the screen is made scratch resistant already..

i'll maybe buy 1 protector for the behind only.. hehe..

I quite agree on this, sometimes I find those cases, jackets, etc just spoil the industrial design of the device and destroy the handling experiences.

I scratch my camera screen once and I swear to myself that I'll put screen protector to it the first day I got it.

i will be getting sgp steinheil. it's one of the best protectors out there.

which type are u getting dude? the newest is the ultra oleophobic right? saw reviews that say its quite nice,good balance of clarity and anti finger prints

I have an ipad with screen protector on it, but the feeling with sp is not as great. I try my cousin iphone without sp and its so much better feeling. His iphone is naked since he bought it 2 years ago but no visible scratches at all and he is pretty rough user.

Some times i wonder do we really need sp to protect the screen? How long do you think an ipad will last? 5 years? 10 years? Why are we protecting it? So that its re-sale value is higher?

Yes, we might get a few scratches over its lifespan but is it worth putting a sp to protect it from a few scratches while sacrificing the better feeling all the time we use it( and yes we do use it a lot).

Just my humble toughts

oleophobic doesnt mean that it will not cause fingerprint to stick.
its just easier to wipe off. yes getting that one

you need to see scratches under light at certain angles.
