QUOTE(kylee700 @ Jun 19 2011, 05:43 PM) Type of usage:Music mainly with a lil bit of movie watching For rock and trance, a Grado SR60i is quite good, and surprisingly good for classical. Although it does leak sound quite a lot and won't be comfortable for too long. I have one. File format:mp3 Music genre:Mainly rock, trance, classical Budget:max 350 Headphone/ earphone type:those big one. i dun like the earbud type TQ all sifu for your recommendations There's also the Fischer Audio FA-004. Never tried one but it seems that the impressions overall are pleasing. Not that 'audiophile' though, but since you're going to use it for mp3, these would do just great. It's a closed design, over the ear and good bass(or so they say). I was also recommended the Fischer Audio Oldskool 70's, said to have the same sound signature as a lower end Grado(which I am familiar with) but with more bass. Then again, same problems as the Grado(little isolation, over the ear design). There's also a new budget champ around this forum, Superlux. Try finding the fan club in this section, ask the seller(trio) about which one is suitable for music. Some are only meant to be used as monitors so they might not be suitable for general everyday use(you may not like the over emphasized treble and mids). Some headphones from Audio Technica, but I have absolutely ZERO knowledge of them. That's pretty much what I know about headphones within your price range and music preference. QUOTE(yui80 @ Jun 28 2011, 04:59 PM) I assume you're into rock considering your choice. Are you going portable with that? If you are, that is a bad choice. The isolation is one thing(which most can live with), the cable length is another(which needs a little creativity to get over that), and it doesn't have a 6.3mm-3.5mm jack adapter, in case you didn't know. Hmmm......I was thinking of a few Shure to suggest to you. Like the SRH440, the SRH550DJ.....maybe the Fischer Audio Eterna, very cheap but also quite good.

QUOTE(ahpingko @ Jun 29 2011, 09:21 AM) hi guys..how about sound quality of this philips SHE9550(by this seller)? compared to Fischer Omega V2?... Frequency response means almost nothing. It only shows what frequency the IEM/headphone can project, but doesn't tell you how it presents it. I have an IEM once that goes down to 15Hz, and guess what, I only get an average amount of bass(but the quality of bass is good).i see the philips frequency response is bigger range compared to omega.. i only want deep bass + some clarity... The Omega V2 is quite known for its bass and decent clarity. |

The M2 is said to have bass that is a bit better than M1 and a mellower treble. Mids is its forte. It has a better strain relief as well compared tot he M1, and judging from the M1's build, I'd say it will be pretty solid.- Type of usage:Music and movie - File format:mp3 avi mkv - Music genre:rock, metal - Budget:below 300 - Headphone/ earphone type:in ear earphone - Other requirements:noise cancelling/isolation,HEAVY DUTY because mine always tercabut one. twice now my klipsch s4 and custom QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jun 30 2011, 05:55 PM) - My Rig: Xperia ARC and X10 Hippo Boom, Soundmagic PL11. QUOTE(holoman @ Jul 1 2011, 12:24 PM) beat by dr dre solo good not in term of quality ? The widespread belief around here says, no.i love their design but not sure about sound quality I can't find a single convincing review that says these things are for a quality listening time. I've seen a guy having them around his neck, and I admit, they sure are pretty. The guy wearing it even saw my Grado SR60i as we walked by each other, and well, you have to be there to see the look on his face. Since Justin Bieber wears them in public, that thing is losing out on the cool factor though. For the price (real or fake) you have a lot of better choices out there, and some aren't even bad looking at all. |

Not too Bassy QUOTE(ShinAS @ Jul 2 2011, 06:29 PM) Hippo Shroom maybe will give the best sound to u since u dont like too bassy.. Actually, the EB might be the better choice since it is the most balanced one than the Shroom (non-EB). I had it once, although it says Extra Bass, the bass was only actually just enough. Not even close to being bassy. Still pleasantly bright. But soundstage is average though.shroom really nice.. the normal price in jaben is 180 but i think , they will give u discount also..^^ and u should try shroom EB to.. but in ur case seems like shroom is best for u.^^ Added on July 2, 2011, 6:31 pm Try Sony product.. they quite nice.. and the fit is comfortable also.. ^^ the build quality ofcoz they are nice n durable for long time use..^^ The other choice would be the Soundmagic PL50 (over-ear style, u might not like that), or PL20. A trusted seller in this forum is selling them. Then there's also Fischer Audio Enigma. Out of them, I've only had the Shroom EB, and that thing is seriously good for the price. |

QUOTE(persona93 @ Jul 5 2011, 03:17 PM) Hello everyone, college has just started and well parking is a problem anddd public transport is all I have, so I need music to keep me company (I seldom text) through my 30-40 minute journey from my place to my college Try looking a t a few range of Superlux headphones. They're at the right price, and with the right choice can sound brilliant with your music. I would steer away from their monitoring headphones like the HD668B. Look for more musical ones like the HD440, HD681 series, HD651 (the cheapest of the lot I believe).- My Rig: N97, HP Mini 110 and PC at home - Type of usage: Listening to music & and a bit of games - File format: MP3 - Music genre: Rock, Pop, Electro and all sorts, my playlist are from Malay to Hindi songs - Budget: Below RM200 - Headphone/ earphone type: Headphone would be better as I have problem with my ears. I have been using earphones and the left one tend to come out alllll the time when I turn heads, so having headphone eliminates the problem right?? Or is there any solutions in using earphones but preventing it from slipping outta my ears - Other requirements: My parents quite scared of thefts so I hope designs are not to lavish, Also, I would appreciate if you guys could provide me with a store on where I can purchase the recommended items as I am still a student and cash is all I have so this rules out buying online and stuffs like that. Thanks for all the help You may want to try an IEM and have it inserted in your ear properly, meaning don't be afraid to shove it in quite deep. Make sure the tip is secure though. For IEMs I recommend Hippo Shroom EB, Soundmagic IEMs, Brainwavz M2, and Fischer Audio Enigma. There are sellers in this forum bringing most of the products in, do a search in Sales section. Oh, the Superlux series doesn't seem to be that stylish and should not attract much attention (well, it grabs attention in a different way This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Jul 5 2011, 03:45 PM |

QUOTE(persona93 @ Jul 5 2011, 03:50 PM) No not really. Just the Hippo and the Koss AFAIK.There are places to audition a few of the Fischer Audios, I just forgot where. Don't know where for the others. My personal experience is limited to the SoundMagic and Hippo. The main thing is, whatever you choose from these manufacturers, they are worth the money. Maybe Jaben has some other headphones within your price range that I don't know of, so go to the branch closest to you to check them out. At your price range and with your rig and requirements, if you can't audition them, read a lot of reviews, look for the respective owners and fan club in this forum. IMO there are so much bang-for-the-buck IEMs and headphones at that price that choosing any of them would turn out nicely, as long as you look at the right manufacturers. If you find something that you like and it seems to have the sound you want (like good bass, smooth treble, or unobtrusive mids, or whatever), try looking for a place that sells the or a place to audition them. If you can't find any, ask here, maybe there's an owner that can give an accurate opinion, or you can arrange a meeting to try it out. |

QUOTE(WS Tradings @ Aug 17 2011, 04:01 PM) Actually Eterna V2 bass is more controlled. There are ppl who prefered V1 for thier fun bass. Generally unless you are sensitive, the dofferences is minimal. Both has got the signature crazy bass. I am awaitimg for the Consonance which was said to have even wilder bass than Eterna. Also the Tandem - dual driver. Fischer Audio is real interesting for the personal audio market. Eh, a new IEM? Hmmm, dual dynamic some more..... About how much will it cost? |

Did someone mention Atrio?
I'm kinda curious as to which other cheaper IEM that can closely match the Atrio? This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Aug 18 2011, 08:49 PM |

QUOTE(MrAvatar @ Aug 19 2011, 08:24 PM) Over ear is better for comfort in most cases. As for sound, many on-ears have good sound quality, and so are over-ears. But over-ear will have a better seal, depending on configuration (open-back/closed back, size, padding thickness, etc. ). |

QUOTE(zechs @ Aug 26 2011, 03:38 PM) Using EX300 now and planning upgrade to EX510. EX510 is RM360 aint it?Advantage of EX series is the comfortable hybrid ear bud, any other brand have a comfort IEM? Budget around or under EX510 price which is RM250. Anyways, from what I remember the EX300 has a very warm sound sig, with a notch up at the treble area and prominent mid-bass. For something with a similar sound, I guess a Hippo VB would suit you. But someone said that the new batch is disappointing. Maybe the Fischer Audio Eterna...it is around your budget IINM (RM250-ish). The most comfortable IEM I've ever had is the SoundMAGIC PL50. The sound sig however is far different. It has less bass and a more comfortable treble, and a mi-focused sound. There is another IEM within the EX510's price, the Audio Technica CKS70. Same country, same design...you can get it from Jaben. |

QUOTE(sarf2k4 @ Aug 30 2011, 02:55 PM) erm, any reasons? that fischer eterna v2 isn't my choice since it needs to be put over the ear and eventually will get a little bit tangled with my glass at the back of my ears. I wear glasses and I've never had any problems wearing IEMs over the ear. I used to own a SoundMAGIC PL50 and thoses needed to be worn over the ear. I also wear my Future Sonics Atrio over the ear.earphones really is one of the hardest choice of all... I forgot to mention that, I do prefer L shaped mini stereo plug rather than the straight mini stereo plug |

QUOTE(sarf2k4 @ Sep 1 2011, 12:36 AM) owh... somehow I decided to go beyond Sony brand and couldn't find any that's nice from those review websites except for its ex300 flagships, almost going for altec lansing though... Differences between what?could you tell me about the specs and its differences in short? I saw some specs about these are so many differences and one noticeable things is, impedance, frequencies, sensitivities, driver size... I guess I'll go for fischer eterna v2 then I tend to overlook the specs almost entirely. The only things I look at in specs are the sensitivity and impedance, to anticipate how efficient the IEM/headphone could be (which in some cases isn't reliable either). If you're gonna wear over the ear, just make sure that the cable is over the glasses' stalk (the bit holding on to your head). |
