typically, updating firmware for a box = put file in root thumbdrive, put in usb slot, press down and hold reset button with pin/toothpick, power up

.. what version u hv to update, where u got from?
.. is your "mismatch" problem old or new or u r just trying it now?

first, u need to be sure that firmware is correct for yr box.

i did a little checking... not entirely sure... but i think that one is for 2/8gb whereas yr box is 1/8gb, not the same. [ my is 2/8GB ]

u need to confirm it is the right one; diff model firmware will not install.[ copied that ]

also, by "extract", i hope u mean copy. [ as per your instruction I copied the rar file to thumb drive without extract the rar file, it seem work, thank you AVFAN       ]

the zip file should be used as it is, do not extract the zip.
