q10 pro user here. kodi 17 but wrapper not working. kodi crashed.

anyone has solution to this?

What firmware u on?

Latest 2.0.1 firmware wrapper for Kodi 17 works for local playback, incl hd audio.

It does not work with kodi17 live streams.

Hopefull next firmware will fix it.

This audio passthru issue with kodi17 is well known for all androids.

i only watch streaming movies via kodi. so no fix so far? can i downgrade to kodi 16 with androind 7? any limitation i need to know before hand?

mine bought the unit, it comes with android 7 already.

Kodi17 streams can work, just set to wrapper to kodi.
Only that u will get 2.0 audio only.

If u hv home theater, want dd, dts, u will need to revert to kodi 16.1.

it doesnt work, it crash when streaming start.

anyway, let me restart the box and see how.

I have used kodi17 on the box for weeks now, no problem.

U may hv forgotten something... besides setting wrapper to kodi, u need to disable audio passthru in kodi.

If still no good, do a clean install.

think of resetting the device but how do i install google play after that?

both are 4-5 yrs old.

after factory reset or firmware update, likely u need a google patch.

it's a small file to be loaded on top of the firmware.

note u need the right ones for the model, pls check model, build, etc.

Anyone using Mi phones, any problems casting to any Himedia boxes?

I just got Redmi Note 4X... unable to get cast working to Q16... this is as far as it goes... after selecting nothing happens...

If your's is the international version, I think Google play is part of the firmware...will still be available after resetting...

mine is q5 quadcore not sure is q5 or q5ii
how do i know if my set is international or china set?

I think updating the firmware should be easy and better. My Himedia H8 came with old firmware and the media player missed out a few feature and after I updated the firmware the sound track selection are available now.

Today I downloaded hundreds of 4K MV and trying them out. KODI v17.1 run better than the stock player.

Your firmware 1.0.1 must be the original, u never updated.

If u had factory reset shows same, that confirms it.

I m quite sure there r updates, u will need to find them if u want.

But if all is good, u have utube n google working, happy enough, then ok.
