erm....... im assuming that you havent done any research on flac format. you do know that flac files are of much higher quality than mp3 file format right? so obviously when you convert your mp3s to flac, the resulting file size will definitely be larger.

don't convert mp3 to FLAC, it won't increase the quality
what you get is an increase in file size only. |

FLAC = normally used to archive songs from CD into lossless format (huge file size)

Garbage in, garbage out.
This case is even worse: garbage in, larger garbage out. *facepalm* |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Apr 26 2011, 08:25 AM) nice one. hahaahahaseriously, mp3 is already compress format(lossy), u cannot get more quality by converting it to lossy format like flac.. just awaste of time, and a waste of storage space |

IF you want smaller filesize, convert it to 96kbps HE-AAC, but yeah AAC is lossy format too, it will strip the detail from your MP3 again, you will get smaller filesize but worst quality
FLAC is lossless compression format, its unlike ZIP RAR and 7Z(can compress any sh*t), FLAC only can compress uncompressed PCM(commonly known as WAV) audio. the audio converter will need to convert to WAV and then compress to FLAC, thats why your music file ended up LARGER than before |
