Hmm, jz got my dv6. Done a clean install, but having some problems with the drivers (4 of them)... 1 of them which is the wireless adapter...

Anyone here successfully done a clean install successfully with all drivers ? If so, can guide me on how you solve all the driver thingy ~

P/S: I downloaded the drivers from the official, site, but still 4 of the drivers aren't working...

I've done some googling, and they suggested me to get this driver too. After I install, it is able to detect, but I've no idea why my Wireless Adapter isn't working still... so as for other 3 components (PCI, Unknown Devices, and 1 more which I've forgotten)

Anyway, I plan to restore back using the HP Recovery Disc, then remove unnecessary sw, can someone guide me on which sw is recommended to be maintained and what not ?

Hmm, after I restore back using the Recover Disc, and look at C drive, i find all the drivers and software installer...

Guess I can copy it out and do a clean install now ~

Hmm, I've just installed the 11.5 driver from AMD official site, I've checked in the CCC, but it doesn't show that I've 11.5 installed?

Any idea on this ? Anyone ?

Means ? The normal (Official 11.5) wont be able to work on this lappy ?

I've went through previous post and seen Acid being able installed the normal 11.5 before installing this hotfix, confused though

UPDATE: Btw, how do you guyz update your drivers ? Do you uninstall old driver 1st ? Or just install over ?

I've seen your temp for Crysis 2. You said yours was on very high setting ? How do you do that ? I can only set as Gamer, Advance or Hardcore only...

And also, even though I enabled V-Sync in game, there is still image tearing ~

Can someone clarify on this ?

Agreed, before this, i updated mine to the 11.5a hotfix, and I've experience bad image tearing in-game and on desktop, even after I force on V-Sync in CCC. Now I revert back to the default driver, and everything is good for now ~

Hmm, guys, I noticed that, after I done gaming with Crysis 2 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, I quit to desktop and I experienced image tearing..

To solve this, I have to switch graphics, then it is back to normal...

Anyone else experience this ?

Could it be driver issues ? or CCC ? I've tried the driver on Windows Update, and even 11.5a but still the same issues ~

Any DV6 owner here experience playing Crysis 2, NFS Hot Pursuit or any other game having "horizontal lines/image tearing" during and after quiting the game (on desktop) even with Vsync on in game or CCC???

So far I experineced this for these 2 games but not for other games like SC2 and Dragon Age 2...

For those who are playing these 2 games, what video driver are you on ?

Before you upgrade or do anything, you can actually get the given drivers provided.

Go to C drive and look for swsetup folder. This is the folder where all drivers are inside, including its softwares and tools too.

Copy this folder to any external storage, and there, you have all your drivers


What you need to do is to install Games for Windows Live

After you recover, you can see the folder of all drivers in the C drive ~

LoL, I understand as I've gone through this lol...

The day before I purchase the lappy, I've downloaded all drivers from hp official site...

So when I get the lappy, I make recovery cd then straight do clean install.... ending up facing with the driver issue.. lolx

Yes, about 3 - 4 drivers... and it's not on HP site...

I've experienced this.... Before you format, you should first enter to windows, go to c driver, and locate swsetup folder... all your drivers is in there ~

Don't quite remember, but I jz know 1 of them would be the driver for wireless ~
