About the palm rest heat issue, is it harming the laptop ? How risky is it ?
Any notes or advices before/during/after getting this machine ?

Guys just finish my movie in pav. now at lowyat testing out the dv6 again. And I notice left hand side really a bit warm. if gaming for long time will be heat up without cooler ?

The weird thing I've noticed about this laptop as an owner is when running idle the left side palm rest warm but when I'm on gaming I feel like the warm is lesser when it's running idle mode. rclxub.gif

Is thie model better thn ASus N53SN? considering of this 2 model..how much was DV6?

Yeah, this DV6 is way better than the N53SN especially the GPU. By the way, Asus has stop producing the N53SN, which mean you're hardly get yourself a brand new N53SN, unless they have some old stock. rclxms.gif

does anyone know that if I add on ram in dv6 by myself will void the warranty? any links to aid me in this process?

I just couldn't afford any mistake on this beauty at all smile.gif

I read somewhere in notebookreview forum that changing the HDD wont avoid the warranty. Not sure about ram tho.. i hope its the same.

Probably marcus can answer this.

finally got my approval from my dad. phew! that was a bit of argument haha my dad doubt about the price. and ask me whether i have cheaper option anot.

but nvm, he agreed at last. rolleyes.gif

btw, sorry if i repeat asking again. the additional 8gb ram make big differences? izit worth upgrading it? mind explaining anot proosss here! rclxms.gif

Ram wouldn't void the warranty.. Tons of ppl done it and u can do it in shops if you're worried

dnt let them know u change the ram, but u at in extra ram will not void the warranty.
if u change HDD, then u may switch back to original or just void the HDD warranty lo ~

I suggest u get the additional 4gb bcause the ram will be shared by the graphics. I always get "not enuff memory" when playing Crysis. tongue.gif

lolwut.. i just notice the Power and the HDD indicator is located at the right side. I thought this lappy dunhave any indicator. doh.gif
