DV6 dont have subwoofer, just 4 speaker driver.... only DV7 got subwoofer.
You have to hear it to believe it, but DV6 microphone's output to headphone is really amazing.... even can drive my 250ohms Beyer Dynamics DT880.

You have to do hearing test by your own comparing these 2 laptops.
I think Beats Audio have designed much better built-in power audio amplifier or better audio chip to drive the headphone...
it's way much better than my previous Sony VGN-FZ35 laptop..... simple test, you can try to plug in your favourite In-Ear earphone or good headphone to do comparison with other laptop.
