QUOTE(onelove89 @ Apr 26 2011, 09:06 AM) Hi I'm new to photography, what's the difference between D90 and D5000? I've compared the two but the specs seems the same. And does the body matter more or is it the lens that is more important? thanks so much =) Lens matter more and the difference between d90 and d5000 is the versatile button on d90 and d5000 have swivel screen CMIIW |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Apr 30 2011, 04:30 AM) haha if want more moolah need to work till 80% of the day right? anyway regarding the WB try to use the WB (ctrl+w) in bright, color via photoscape for easier adjustment and choose the best possible original white color. Then it will work its magic |

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ May 7 2011, 03:37 AM) Hahahahahah hell yeah! Try looking at this photo before say anything. Btw, the colour and bokeh makes my 80-200 look ugly http://www.flickr.com/photos/bk_foto/4782307631/ and it is not the lens fault, it is the user fault for not knowing how to use. This guy on flickr doesn't seem to have problem with it and here I'm wondering if you, yourself are capable for that lens. If you can't get it right with 80-200 2.8 what makes you think, you can get it right with any other lens for that matter. QUOTE(vearn27 @ May 13 2011, 05:07 PM) Actually I blind hit the shop. The day before I purchase my D7000, I googled and found a website listing camera shops in Selangor. I randomly pick names that I felt can get good price and start calling resulting Foto Selangor offer price was the lowest among all if you're a reporter or in a way of the field, you get more discount |

QUOTE(geekster129 @ May 14 2011, 09:28 PM) Haha... 2 types of clients: Either they appreciate your creativity or they will be thinking: "Apa ni? Gambar kepala kitorang kena potong!" I agree with the latter. Most people don't see that as "pleasant" neither comforting. If it is other culture.... yeah people with make weird face and "Why is my head is beheaded?"Added on May 14, 2011, 9:30 pm I think one kind of softness that people can accept is when you're shooting backlit with sunflare, those kind of shots, people acknowledge that there's a sunflare from behind, so most of the things will be quite unclear and the softness is part of the package, sort of a dreamy feel. I still find f/2.8 to be considerably sharp. f/2 is already like 2/3 stops apart and the DOF starts to get really shallow, not really to my liking. |

Light is essence in photography. All the technicality is just for basics. If you don't know how to capture in image compo+light, then you wouldn't have to bother with the word "photography" in the first place.

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ May 23 2011, 11:06 PM) if I were you I will buy a decent 17-50 2.8 so I can survive w/ ambient light only. I rather not risk it and get the flashgun. Flashgun can really make a difference.and get a decent flash like sb-600 or sb-800. this case provided you have enough budget. anyway get 35mm 1.8 might be a great idea as well. a lot of people use that for their 1st paid shoot. |

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ May 23 2011, 11:15 PM) photography with flashgun is not the same like normal photography with ambient light. it takes some times for one to learn flash usage properly. lol if you use manual like me then yeah it will be different but I did it :/ sb900? you will be on TTL don't have to worry on anything other than get a good picture if the wedding is coming in this very soon I doubt one can learn using their flash gun properly by that time. anyway ambient light only works if theres actually decent light. As far my experience goes, those place are poor lit and the light weren't helping either. So getting a flashgun would be a good thing rather than big aperture. flash you don't have to worry on how ambient light to fall of to your subject. You can work easily. If your hoping for ambient light, you need to know how the light is going to light up your subject. ![]() 20110522-IMG_0714 by Loveygrapher, on Flickr This post has been edited by ComradeZ: May 23 2011, 11:27 PM |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ May 23 2011, 11:44 PM) lol d700 also use flashgun and even d3s in an event. If you use ambient light you will eventually get fugly lighting which is rather not good for the client and your reputation but provided that you may direct them as you please and also provided that you know where the light coming from and how it would fall off nicely on the couple then shoot go for it This post has been edited by ComradeZ: May 23 2011, 11:49 PM |
