Proper lightngs, proper exposure, aperture, etc is important as been mention before.

nixxer in PM posted many nice great sharp images. I suspect its using the sweet aperture/spot of the lens, nicely expose.
*
Actually, exposure is important smile.gif

Aperture too, but often light is the only limiting your aperture/shutter/iso. So need to shoot according to environment!

if his is a 'made in japan' lens cap then better tongue.gif
*
Hahaha! Yes I noticed my 18105 previously made in thailand, but for other lens like 1635,85 and 70200 made in Japan lol~ better qc? less variation, higher CPK tongue.gif. Just kidding haha!

just bought D700 from J one yesterday..no regret..
superb iso performance..
*
Well it uses Nikon's first and also the previous flagship FX sensor. D3's sensor! The only better sensor now in terms of iso is the current king, the D3S.

hello guys. i just got myself a d7000 + 50mm 1.4d. felt like i need a wider lens ! yawn.gif !
*
50mm is already effectively 75mm on crop... not surprising if you need something wider. It depends on what you want to shoot after all.

Most of the samples were at f/3.2, and they didn't look impressive to me. Maybe due to the color perhaps.

the bokeh is distracting.
*
Probably because the aperture was step down instead of shooting it wide open. Since when you step down, the aperture is no longer in perfect circular shape.

Most of the shots looks like using Flash (Fill Flash), built in Flash?

Doesn't seem to be a good way to use as a sample.
*
Using flash should not affect the sharpness of the image actually...

Oh, didn't know you were referring to the sharpness; I thought you meant the colour and overall picture?

Anyway, I feel the Fill Flash is too harsh, making the picture very "normal"; If it was not mention it was taken with DSLR, people "might" think it's using a PnS.
*
That is more of user issue instead, but anyways have to wait for better samples. This samples of the f/1.8G is simply 'cheekai' haha!

That's what I mean, it not a 'proper' sample or good sample for review. Kind of doing injustice for the lens, IMHO, haha.

Let's hope we'll see some better samples; Not sure how it'll fare against the 1.8D, or even the 1.4D. The focusing speed might loose out though.

LOL, let's just wait for a proper review. But from the looks of it I am not putting high hopes on it.

Damn, my SB900 suddenly cannot rotate. Tilt still can. Anyone ever experienced this?
*
Using my SB900 for 1.5 years, so far no such issue yet. Maybe the latch is stuck.

I shoot with filter on my 70200 VR2 using Hoya HD. So far not experiencing any sharpness issue. With and without seems similar for me.

Ok guys, this is getting crazy for me. Flashgun is in now. Next, I'll need to hunt for batteries tomorrow. Sanyo Eneelop? Which package is recommended? The seller told me that their shop customers got experience using high mAh batteries for the flashgun resulting in malfunctioning which then requires repair. Izzit true that high mAh batteries will spoil the flashgun? unsure.gif

Any guide or tips on how I should handle the flashgun least enough for what to deliver this weekend? sweat.gif

Sanyo Eneloop, highly recommended from me. So far it works well and never failed me.

base from my noob exp..i never see wedding photographer do their job without flashgun..its a very2 important thing u should hv if u wanna be a wedding photographer..
*
Depends, if you look works of more wedding photog you would realize there are some at different level which does not use flash to capture actual ambient feel. I have a few friends who does wedding photography and they don't use flash all the time.

But oh well, that is with gears like D3 and also f/2.8 zoom, f/1.4 primes.

i'll try, thanks for the advice bro  flex.gif
lol, but i always use auto WB. and i keep my exposure middle in the middle. is it the correct way to do it ?  laugh.gif
*
Most of the time it would be ok. But some condition will confuse the metering and then your exposure would be no good. Then again, it depends on the photographer. What type of exposure does the photographer want. You control your camera, not your camera control you.

What is your budget for the lens?

The kit lens is recommended if you don't know what to buy.

can use better than kit lens?

most of my friends say no need use kit lens as you gonna upgrade soon to other lens.
*
I'll repeat, what is your budget?

If budget is unlimited, you may consider the DX king lens, 17-55.

I think I got mine about 4.9k thereabouts. Yes, wide open is nice but when the subject moves about, it's not the easiest to shoot with since DoF is very thin.

The 35mm f/1.8 is nice and affordable. Would have gone with that but I wanted FX. I already have the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and I'm told it's pretty similar output with the 35mm f/1.8 except that the Sigma being less contrasty out of the camera but smoother bokeh.

I somehow don't have the love for the 50mm f/1.4.

24mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 is a different story.
*
For 50mm, f/1.2 is the real deal brows.gif
