Are you sure?? kelvin. Desktop may be Nvidia strength, but we are in the laptop territory now. With the price/performance, Amd should have the upper hand. 

In the lowyat forum alienware thread and garage sale, I only see casperito  is having gtx 580m . Other mostly are gtx 460, 6870, or 6970m. I don't see much gtx 580m and amd 6990m around.

Even GreaseMonkey90 's M18x(rich   ) are only with 6970 xcrossfire. He may gonna change card since his 6970m have some driver problem. But do not know it is due to amd or due to xcrossfire. Since sli and xfire both have some issue.

And sager thread are mostly filled with 485m for 3d and 6970m. Now amd 6990m starting to emerge on their units.

In the US, the new buyer for the past months are mostly with amd 6990m. About 20 gtx580 : 80 amd 6990m. It may be due to high price of Nvidia over AMD. Now they are still arguing who is being the better card.

How come Malaysia user preference so much difference from US or even Australia user? let's see an example. A person(not referring to anyone) paid 7k for m17x r3 with 6970m. But in fact, he can get it with amd 6990m for 8k. It is just like buying a 200k car but do not want to opt for better engine in order to save 20k. Especially graphic card is the most impt. component for gaming laptop.

Also, one more thing, Sager users/reseller generally don't emphasis on cpu, they do not think it will impact much on gaming performance, but on the other hand, alienware user opt for more powerful cpu. In dell malaysia and singapore, 2820qm even become a standard spec in the configuration. This is another big difference in view between 2 groups of gamers. Funny huh?

Note: I am not trying to argue with u , just feel strange after getting feed back from here and NBR. Why the "needs and wants" are so much difference between 2 forum's users or 2 group of gamers.
