yup, i can spend RM3000 to build a desktop performance double of ur laptop. Core i7 2500k i clocked to 4.5ghz with stock cooling. with GTX580. might not be double performance, vantage comfirm over 30k, if pay a little bit more for better mobo can clock to higher rate, where ur laptop can perform the most at 23k for vantage.
i thought you are talking about a laptop...well in that case is not fair to compare a high-end laptop Raio-Price-Bulid to a desktop, desktop can be 3000 to over ply 15K with same spec that u are talking, yes it depends on person, i am international student and i dun prefer having desktop, in my own country my brother having spec of i7 990EX and dual GTX 480 perhpas around 6000RM ... lol but i was talking about laptop, what i tried to say it was i am not satisfied with alienware specifications !!! for example offering a single 460m in m17x is a total waste of buy, not enough power...they better use at least 480m ....

Mine was 980x n sli 480ms. Now the reason why aw didn't go for desktop i7s are becos they are immensely innifficient in laptops. Thus they went for a processor the SB. By giving lower power consuming processor, it would mean that the gpus have a lower risk of throttling. Tht is where my hexacore n dual 480s come in conflict. Both of them, power hungry and constantly fighting for more power. Therefore more power was sucked. The 300w psu they provided couldn't handle the demanding so it cuts itself out from the wall causing it to trip.
yes its ture friend, everybody almost had that problem, but nowadays with having the newest BIOS, i guess before supporting of 6970m BIOS, temp are running cool + power consumption with recommended additional PSU and convertor box for 485m SLI and 6970m CF users, there are no problem ! mabey you could wait, cuz as i mentioned i did try with my friend's np7280 and there wasnt any problem with having 600WAT !!!!!!!! even for 470m SLI users may be require of they wish OVERCLOKING and pushing their np7280 limitations to further more of what it acts. personally as far as i asked people who are having SLI and CF in np7280 and my own experiment there are no problem, BUT for sure against to upcoming m18x ... for having a powerhouse np7280 you may require to sacrifice beauty and weight and HUGE MONSTERICAL PSUs and power adapter to a huge better performance.
about not being efficient of core i7 desktops at laptops i do agree...but i guess they would use more power of a SLI scale and CF scale of powerful cards like 6970 and gtx 485 over a Mobility Sandy-Bridge, how much i am not sure...wait to c the m18x results and bechmarks soon at Notebookcheck !

whats the price for m18x ?
should be something around 1000RM for a good Config...low or less, it would start at 2000USD something for sure, add on up to 3000USD i guess for having nice specs
