Hi everyone, wanna check on something...

m17x-r3, may i know what speakers it comes with? i know its from Klipsch, but is it 5.1 ? coz i find the sound is still soft (or maybe i'm too use with my new speakers bombing), even though i have max the sound in terms of in-game and laptop, but still kinda soft, is that normal?

Appreciate the advise, thanks.

M17x-R3 have 2.0 with setreo speaker, where the sound wont be so nice. 5.1 just through speaker or headset which have 5.1 jacks. currently the best speaker still goes to XPS series......

thanks for the info chip smile.gif

Can't rely on lappie's speakers to give out IMBA sounds... sweat.gif Best is to carry a pair of RZ Ferox while on the move paired with a good mobile soundcard~ tongue.gif

its not that i am expecting the sound from the laptop speakers to be imba, just in my scenario, i find the volume of the sound effects (e.g conversation, music etc) kinda low, i tried configuring it MAX when gaming (in-game) or in WMP (movie) and still find the volume low, any idea why is that? seems to apply only when watching movies or games, the window theme sounds are loud...any ideas?

What kinda of external speakerS? You want basic or mid range or highend? Basic you can never go wrong with Sonic Gear and Altec Lansing. You get what you pay for so normal 2.1 set with wooden subwoofer. Midrange I'd recommend the newer Harman Kardon Soundsticks 3 going fro RM699 which is a work of art (Permanent fixture at the New York Museum of modern art) and excellent clarity or highend Bose Companion 3 or 5 going for RM1.5-1.9k .... External soundcard do PM the good Mr.Docter smile.gif

sorry, not external speakers, but portable speakers instead, any reco? smile.gif

Hello Peeps,

Encountering an issue with my M17X-R3

There was an error while AlienFX Controller was communicating with the computer. This might have been caused due to a problem with the hardware or the software.Try these solutions to correct the issue, in the following order:
alienFX controller show me this messege
The device you have selected is included in the current theme but AlienFX cannot detect this device on your system. Do you want to remove this device from the current theme?

- Try to enable AlienFX Controller again. Right-click on the AlienFX icon in the Windows notification area and select 'Enable Alienware AlienFX'.
- Shut down your computer and power it back on.

If neither of these solutions works, please contact Alienware technical support.
This error may also be caused if Alienware AlienFX software is installed on a computer without the proper hardware support for Alienware AlienFX.

Scenario: No light at all on the keyboard, it happened when i was watching a movie using WMP, suddenly all the lights went off.

Anyone face this scenario before?

-Solved-
