QUOTE(Deckard Cain @ Jun 28 2011, 01:31 PM) @GreaseMonkey90 are the fans noisy on heavy gaming? the temp score is unnbelievable.. I think they might have secret air cond technology built in. Love your style bro haha Added on June 28, 2011, 1:33 pm lol yep.. my dad SLI gtx580 on his beast doesn't even amount to that but of course mobile gaming is the future. If i had that kind of money, i'll splash on it. Or errr.. maybe pay with credit card then die later Added on June 28, 2011, 3:14 pm QUOTE(putochip123 @ Jun 28 2011, 02:04 PM) nope, because of fans spin fast, as many people think their fan spin loud, then it must be their laptop problem d, especially the people who dont like dell, keep on say dell laptop fan spin fast and because an issue for the laptop. My M14x's fan sounds like a hairdryer This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Jun 28 2011, 03:14 PM |

QUOTE(doremon @ Jun 29 2011, 06:45 AM) Register your laptop for warranty la You need to do that regardless of which brand you choose. Its easy to find in Dell's website ps: You would want to burn your recovery discs as well.. This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Jun 29 2011, 08:04 AM |

^ You could just turn off the lights and do all the necessary settings via AlienFX. Its one of the best programs ever to come with a laptop
Well, if you don't register, you're the one taking the risk There's an Intel Turbo Boost program for you to monitor the clock speeds.. but then its just a waste of resources that's why Dell decided to omit them from Alienware units... |

QUOTE(duabijitelur @ Jun 29 2011, 07:21 PM) what will void the laptop warranty? can someone explain briefly? For other brands, sometimes there are stickers within the laptop which prevents the users from tempering with the inner components e.g. HDD etc. err i dun mean to void the warranty... just wanted to ask and know about it Tearing this sticker would void the warranty... Otherwise, I think there's really not much chances of the manufacturer discovering what users did to their laptops hehe~ Just my 2 cents |

QUOTE(hidz7 @ Jul 1 2011, 01:43 AM) LOL guys the moment I wrote this suddenly Dell Malaysia updated the M17x R3 page, now it can be configured with GTX580M. Wow, so fast can upgrade liao? Naaaiceee @ Putochip, yeah desktop version is much more powerful and cheaper compared to its mobile counterpart, no doubt about that. Oh ya putochip, you don't have any discounts for new M17x R3? So who's getting this new baby? |

QUOTE(Mr_47 @ Jul 5 2011, 06:17 PM) Get it only if your main concern is about portability and not gaming Below are some drawbacks: 1. Very loud fan when on load 2. Screen refresh rate and performance drops significantly when on battery 3. High performance on battery will cause auto-shutdown 4. M14x with normal HDD will get hot on the right palm rest 5. Keyboard and touchpad lights doesn't light up during start up (only applicable to advance lighting settings) 6. Buttons are abit far apart (my own opinion hehe) Other than that, its basically a very awesome 14" machine |

QUOTE(Mr_47 @ Jul 5 2011, 08:12 PM) I meant if you emphasize portability over gaming, then get the M14x. If not, you'd probably be better off with the much better Asus, Sager models (can get GTX560M already with that budget). Perhaps even the AW M15x This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Jul 5 2011, 09:18 PM |
