hey guys... my setup is: HU - Pioneer 1050 Old Alpine 3537 & old alpine 3525 Component is and Sub is a 2nd hand IQD 10 in a non ported box http://www.teamrocs.com/reviews/speakers/idq10.htm3537 is connect to the SUB on MONO 3525 is connected to the comp the RCA fr the HU is splitted with Y cable means i can't fade back and front. what i wanna ask is whether the 3537 is suitable for this SUB or not? and i want comment on this sub. just got it fixed today. the bass is nice and not noisy but the installer suggest preamp for a cleaner bass since old amp didn't come with x-over. what u guys think? driving a kelisa. 200W, a bit underpower
save the money amd get a more powderful amp go back to the installer and ask him wat is the logic behind installing a preamp will "clean" or "filter" the bass

he said adding a preamp will take off the higher freq fr the sub, meaning to say the sub will pump bass and not high notes. the sub is rated 250watts in the web and my 3537 is rated 300w mono. still underpower ka? This post has been edited by o10+01o: Mar 7 2009, 12:06 AM

perhaps just change the HU to 1 with crossover function, no need to buy an external crossover.
