ur better is in the sense of wat? louder or sweeter? A6 has very gud control over the subs... making it very precise. Thus, bass reproduction is more accurate. loudness, i think wun kalah as well.
pre amps wun help in this case. if the source signal is bad then the end signal will oso be bad. i quote this from someone, 'rubbish in, rubbish out'.

its abit weird to know that ur sub amp is of much higher end and capability compared to ur amp for front.

dun bother about bafukie... he's saying if u get A6, will have a much higher end amp than the 4ch for front.. it's not to say no good or unbalance, it's just dat ppl will focus more on the front sq compare to sub. sub is least important in a system except for SPL setup. if not, for daily use, concentrate more on sq at front so dat can go loud and clear...

oh ic.... DLS A6 is 1 ohm stable rite? so can i use 2sub at 1 ohm ? will my sub bunt?

can whack ur 10" subs no problem la. dun overpower the subs then wun burn.

wat do u mean by over power? and wat do u think about ROCKFORD FOSGATE 2614 6.5" and soundstream PCC.6 for my front comp? which one better?
actually how to see which one is the sub or comp good one? and calculate the RMS? any advice or link plz....

Im saying that focus on the front speakers first but i dun see any harm buying dls a6 now as it will save u money and energy later if u plan to upgrade


ckmoy, every part of a sound system is equally important. from the HU rite down to the cables... and yes if ur sub sucks the whole system sucks as well no matter how good the front is.

which comp better is not on RMS... but the sound they produced. for me, i dun have the chance to audit every system or speakers, i will ask around for opinions in forums stating within a certain budget or certain models. then ask wat is the characteristics of the sound they produced.
as for ur components dat u said, i neva heard them b4, so i can't comment. but i personally wun give a damn about those 2, cos i now more into SQ, those brand to me is SPL orientated...
as for sub, it depends on wat kinda of music u like, some like low and heavy bass (hip-hop), and some like fast and accurate bass (techno & rock).

Added on November 16, 2008, 4:28 amtrue, but the least obvious effect is sub. a hi end front paired wit mid end sub won't sound worse than mid end front and hi end sub. agreed? if upgrade, best is concentrate on front first. of course best is pair everything of the same lvl la or one or 2 things higher. it all depends on how deep ur pocket.

wat is ur HU?
SPL/SQL/SQ is not depends on the songs u listen to but how u listen to songs. if u like it loud and bassy and wan to share with ur neighbours wat u r listening, then it's SPL. for personal enjoyment, to hear every music quality of the song, it's SQ. SQL is 50/50.
as for 900 u wan to change so many things including installation, it's kinda low to me. even a poorly built woofer box will cost around 100-150. cables and installation for an amp is roughly 200. so wats left is about 500 or 600 max. looks like u can get onli 2 things. if u get all cap ayam, think u can manage to use ur budget nicely. like from those ah beng shop or brothers, i've seen a 10" woofer + box for onli rm199. an amp for 299, and comp set from 99. lol, dun ask me wat brand la, god knows.

haha...i mean 900 without woofer but with an amp for the woofer...

so actually the 900 = 2amp, 1 component + installation

wow, 2 amps ah? i think for u 1 4ch amp is enuf d, 2ch for front comp set and bridge 2ch for sub. i think like dat shud meet ur budget. as for which amp, u have to do ur own research, as far as i know, JBL, Magnat and soundstream has amps that meet ur budget. component wise, maybe can get JBL or Boschmann. maybe u can search around to get a better 2nd hand for the same price.

mm...but actually i was looking for like...making it ready for another component set next time....

so your suggestion is getting a 4ch amp, 2ch for component and 1ch for woofer...

I need some help for my first car audio related purchase. The HU in my 2003 Honda City just died on me, so I need to replace it. I listen to a wide range of music, but mostly jazz, so SQ is a priority. Everything else like the speakers are stock, no money to change yet. My budget around RM500. Any recommendations?
