For Maybank 2 AMEX, the cash back is based on the transaction date or the posting date? And is it based on Malaysian time?

Transaction date, based on local time, not Malaysia time.

alright thanks. been avoiding using amex overseas but if can get the 5% cashback and 5x points, will give it a try.

yup, after factoring 5% rebate and 5x points is even lower than money exchange rate (of course if it's within cap)

hi guys, could i check with u all, which of the following credit cards (those that i have) should be given the best rate oversea (US) ?

1) MBB 2 Amex
2) MBB 2 Master
3) AEON WATAMI VISA
4) Hong Leong MACH VISA
5) Public Bank Gold Master

i referred back to some of the posts here, seems the highlighted 2 give the best rate among the rest in the list.
pls advise. notworthy.gif

Use MBB 2 Amex on weekend and Watami on weekday, provided rebate quota not finish

Why Aeon Watami rate so high one?
I still planning to use the card for coming Bangkok trip

you can post the rate for our info once you came back from Bangkok then.

If high, should be all currency high, but seems like Yen only thus far, another person posted USD seems alright the rate. hmm.gif

Why there is 2 rates? One based on transaction date and the other is posting?

Just to confirm the exchange rate is follow posting rate right?

I compared both my Maybank2kard AMEX and Maybank Visa Signature used in USD & KRW, it seems AMEX exchange is even lower.

Maybank2kard AMEX
Transaction date : 3 Feb
Posting date : 6 Feb
USD rate : 3.988

Transaction date : 3 Feb
Posting date : 6 Feb
KRW rate : 3.661

Maybank VS
Transaction date : 3 Feb
Posting date : 6 Feb
USD rate : 3.991

Transaction date : 2 Feb
Posting date : 6 Feb
KRW rate : 3.679

With 5% rebate some more, better I use AMEX
