hi i am planning to go to Jakarta soon....i plan to book my hotel, food and a few other things from here.... so the charges will be in usd or rupiah.....may i know which CC gives a good conversion rate and rebates.....i have
hlb wise, maybank 2 card amex and visa, aeon watami, ocbc titanium, hsbc amanah mpower visa....

from what i read here i think aeon watami gives the best conversion but i usually max out the 3% rebate.....i was just wondering whether OCBC titanium or HSBC with their 1% cash back is more worth it than AEON Watami conversion rate excluding the 3% cashback....

any comments..thanxs..

if you are booking using agoda, there is a promo with banks like maybank..charge it in RM so no forex fee..as for forex rate, it has been reported here that aeon gives a good conversion rate.

Hi, i would like to check. when we are at shopping, we are given choice to pay using MYR or the particular country currency, which should we choose?

for example, if i had choose to pay with Taiwan Dollar currency, it will incur a exchange rate charge?

The front page show OCBC Bank charge 1%.
From OCBC bank webpage: http://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/Ca...cards_more_info

The currency conversion rate is determined by Visa International & MasterCard Worldwide plus a standard administration charge of 1.25% and any transaction fee levied by Visa International and MasterCard Worldwide.

Hi, I'm currently going to pay for my UCAS application of 23 GBP.

If I use AMex, is this calculation correct?

23 x 5.25455 (GBP/MYR rate as of now) x (0.5% + 2.5%) <---- I dont understand the 0.5+2.5)

Or should I pay with UOB card, then calculation like this?

23 x 5.25455 (GBP/MYR rate as of now) x (1%)

Just wondering if 2.25% is a little high or is there any other card that can provide better rates? Cuz Im a really heavy user in oversea transactions
