yea i bought sth from US last time. didnt apply permit. held by custom. DHL called and ask if wants help to apply, service charge sth like rm 50+ but the applying process few hundreds. forgot how much around 300 to 400. so altogether 450 extra. If u do it urself u can save ur rm 50 =D cheers?

shipping fee is not that much of a problem, the problem is the permit.. u nid to declare if the item weight over a certain limit. and that cost alot.

+
10% tax

oh well... rm 350 + rm 230 + phonne rm 2.3k = expensive!!

But there are rumours that say DHL may be able to help u escape this permit if u're lucky. but still nid to pay the 10%. ARGH!

There's no way u can escape the tax. They even open up gift now.

I've already asked my friend about it.

His scenario was:

He asked his friend in the state to buy an iphone for him. Send it back as gift. held by custom. and had to pay the tax and also the sirim permit. it was rm 215 that time. No chance.

But sometimes if u're lucky, u can escape it. it's sort of like.. chance or luck == wouldnt want to bet on that.

oh the VAT u can check via the online phone seller such as clove or handtec. around 100 to 120 pound i guess.
