Actually about the Gorilla glass, it is a hard type of glass which is RESISTANT to scratch, but not entirely scratch PROOF like what others have point out. Gorilla glass wont be scratched easily by coins / blades / keys. As long as if you keep your phone in your pocket without those materials, I believe your SGS II wont be scratched. I'm using a DHD. Initially I applied matte SP once it is available, but I hv remove it and using it nakedly. Even matte SP, I found it is still full of fingerprints n smudge (mine is using capdase, not those RM10 one). Furthermore, without SP, the screen clarity and sensitivity is better. And my DHD is without scratch even without SP. So I believe da SGS II with gorilla glass wont be scratch that easily.
Coming fr a HTC user, to be honest, I love sense UI alot, especially the new Sense 3.0 and its lockscreen, is way even better than the famous widgetlocker. I have always been a fan of HTC ui and recommend to my friend who wanted a good user experience out of da box without much customization. However throughout the years, HTC seems lacking in hardware, especially their audio n camera part. My DHD loudspeaker is a crap, MP3 output through loudspeaker is bad and camera is not as good as Samsung or SE. I'm oso a fan of metal / aluminium casing of HTC and I have even sighted on Sensation. But their hardware spec really disappointed me. Even they always market their phone as high end and HD video and sound, but their multimedia capability is a crap. Not to mention they even locked up the boatloader.
However we must understand that software is something where Android community can be changed as the level of customization is so high. Yet the hardware capabilities can't be improve through software unless u mod the hardware. So I would choose SGS II as I hv played wif my friend SGS II which he just came back fr UK. TW4 is an improvement compare to TW3. Is not as elegant as Sense but I would say they have their own advantage over Sense. My opinion is since u got the phone, why dont try to utilize and understand fully the features of TW4 and SGS II. Appearance and UI is seriously a personal preference, so don't judge the phone based on it. We should judge the phone based on its actual performance and capabilities. I know many of you wanted to get the best user experience out of the box without customization or root. But hey, we are in the Android community. If buying an Android phone without considering its customization and dev support why don't we just use Nokia S40 phone or even symbian. We should learn how to make the phone to perform and show its best capability out of the hardware instead of compromising ourselves to the phone
