QUOTE(oldKyoo @ May 8 2011, 12:03 PM)
Il explain, what  u 1st said about gorilla glass is a mere puff of statement, which u assumed it to be.
*
it had a hint of sarcasm, but I guess it's tough to detect sarcasm on the net-despite the fact that there was a smiley there laugh.gif

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ May 8 2011, 12:03 PM)
then i mentioned that what u said is not correct, u seem to show signs that u assume gorilla glass to be more of a scratch-proof then a scratch-resistant.

if it glides lightly , like what some of ur "videos" show, then yes, it might not scratch.
*
No.
The video I was referring to in that instance is it getting scratched(Zagg advert)

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ May 8 2011, 12:03 PM)
But what happens when u have keys, and ur phone in jeans???? The chances of even when i place it in a bag, for example, it might be scratched with my keys should someone pressure my bag from behind, or in my pocket, where there is a crowded area, there maybe more pressure there, if people start pushing around, or mayb i accidentally hit the wall while running for an important meeting to avoid the crowd to squeeze my way thru, or mayb i sat down, and hands hit my lap, and again pressure.
so ur reasonable expected answer to this is why do u even place it in together???

well, because im the owner, and "assuming" from ur statement of mere puff that it is "virtually indestructible" hinted and gave strong suggestions that it cant be scratched, because thats what corning ware 1st advertised.
*
My statement came more from stress tests than adverts.
As far as glass goes, this is much stronger than normal glass.

But go ahead, continue assuming. smile.gif

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ May 8 2011, 12:05 PM)
then be detailed here, ur hampered by egocentrism it seems.

Another assumption.nice!(I'm being sarcastic here,btw..just FYI) wink.gif

What is it that u dont understand what I am trying to tell you is that the damn glass is easily scratched???

The 1st sgs2 user here ccm who bought the phone had a scratch on the phone without even noticing he scratched it

Thanks Bugeca! Good to know we can download and keep a copy of the stock firmware.

Still arguing over whether the Gorilla glass can be stratched? Easily. My boss's iPhone 4 gets scratched within 1 day. My HTC Incredible S also got scratched...but do I care? Nope.. biggrin.gif
I rather have a pretty screen which runs the risks of being scratched than to have a matte screen over it but that's just me.

QUOTE(Bugeca @ May 8 2011, 10:56 AM)
Regster urself @ this site first (foc) samfirmware.com and download SGS2 stock firmware or just look over the XDA. Someone posted XWKDD firmware which is same as our set. This is for recovery and back to stock mode.

Your post I quoted made no mention of this.(pretty much all it contained were assumptions)
But regardless-Not noticing when or how it got scratched doesn't prove it is easily scratched.
It just proves that it CAN be scratched.

Seriously,no need to get so excited.

the gorilla glass wont scratch because of contact with key, or tip of ball pen.. but it can get scratch by the tiny end of blade.. but who wanna put that kind of blade on a phone?

the most common situation where u'll find gorilla glass device get scratched is due to small sands that sometimes get into our pockets. this tiny sands easily cause hairline scratch on the gorilla glass if it's rub against the screen.

Actually about the Gorilla glass, it is a hard type of glass which is RESISTANT to scratch, but not entirely scratch PROOF like what others have point out. Gorilla glass wont be scratched easily by coins / blades / keys. As long as if you keep your phone in your pocket without those materials, I believe your SGS II wont be scratched. I'm using a DHD. Initially I applied matte SP once it is available, but I hv remove it and using it nakedly. Even matte SP, I found it is still full of fingerprints n smudge (mine is using capdase, not those RM10 one). Furthermore, without SP, the screen clarity and sensitivity is better. And my DHD is without scratch even without SP. So I believe da SGS II with gorilla glass wont be scratch that easily.

Coming fr a HTC user, to be honest, I love sense UI alot, especially the new Sense 3.0 and its lockscreen, is way even better than the famous widgetlocker. I have always been a fan of HTC ui and recommend to my friend who wanted a good user experience out of da box without much customization. However throughout the years, HTC seems lacking in hardware, especially their audio n camera part. My DHD loudspeaker is a crap, MP3 output through loudspeaker is bad and camera is not as good as Samsung or SE. I'm oso a fan of metal / aluminium casing of HTC and I have even sighted on Sensation. But their hardware spec really disappointed me. Even they always market their phone as high end and HD video and sound, but their multimedia capability is a crap. Not to mention they even locked up the boatloader.

However we must understand that software is something where Android community can be changed as the level of customization is so high. Yet the hardware capabilities can't be improve through software unless u mod the hardware. So I would choose SGS II as I hv played wif my friend SGS II which he just came back fr UK. TW4 is an improvement compare to TW3. Is not as elegant as Sense but I would say they have their own advantage over Sense. My opinion is since u got the phone, why dont try to utilize and understand fully the features of TW4 and SGS II. Appearance and UI is seriously a personal preference, so don't judge the phone based on it. We should judge the phone based on its actual performance and capabilities. I know many of you wanted to get the best user experience out of the box without customization or root. But hey, we are in the Android community. If buying an Android phone without considering its customization and dev support why don't we just use Nokia S40 phone or even symbian. We should learn how to make the phone to perform and show its best capability out of the hardware instead of compromising ourselves to the phone

Most of the comparisons here were made between sgs2 & sensation.

well, our very own, Lyn Reviewer, buntutwoman has managed to test those phones for their respective manufacturers.

& as conclusion, even if he didn't fully get that 'WOW' feeling from sgs2, he still recommended it, better than Sensation.

Good enough for me!

hopefully will get mine next week!

I plugged out at around 9 plus in the morning, forgot what time.... now the battery is at 75% zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

2 days is for light usage, like really light....

im on moderate only now.... heavy is during the weekdays...

Added on May 8, 2011, 1:31 pmAnyway, il let the battery charge up for a couple more times, then after a week il give my overall feedback about the battery.
