Just went last weekend. Nice place and does seem to have potential. One downside and a major one I suppose since it is the whole purpose of the shopping mall, lack of shops. A lot are still not open yet. Most people I see are either eating or shopping at Giant.

Viva is good if you want your house to look like the equivalent of an "Amber Chia" aesthetic -- lots of crystal encrusted products (from lighting to rugs to upholstery).

There was an impressive bathroom store... Kohler and fancy stuff like that -- including a gorgeous Phillip Starck section. Plus a very nice Carpentry shop... customisable furniture and fittings with a catalogue of about 20 different types of local wood... (I was quite amazed).

That was the only thing that impressed me lor... besides a few lighting shops with mediocre selections and bad China knock-offs of iconic European designs. The others are to me too 'ah lian' lor... so called 'modern' but in a very iCreative Home way... again, think Amber Chia meets Eric Leong, never towards the definition of "modern" in the Wallpaper* magazine sense I guess...

Rather disappointing but makes for a challenging browse anyway.

Also this isn't a Houz Depot... not many tile/material shops... more towards furniture and accessories lor...

Went there last month to buy ping pong stuff. A lot of shops are not opened yet but I must say, it's quite impressive compared to the old UE3. This is definitely a new hang out place for people from Cheras area. The Star LRT station is also nearby. The shops selling furniture or decorative stuff/soft furnishing are not so bad, come in many range from middle up to higher end. Typical franchised food outlet is there. I think probably if u want to go to this Viva Home, wait for a couple more months, perhaps then more shops will be opened to public. I think this place is trying to mimic Ikano Power Centre which is meant for home furnishing but in a different way nod.gif
