QUOTE(everydayppl @ Jun 8 2011, 03:37 AM) Seems like nobody is using the CM7 ROM from Tech. So far appears faster and has a higher quadrant score (over 3000) than any other ROM I've tried...The video is still a problem for me though.... Need accelerated video playback and all the Samsung goodies on my Tab ever since I loaded CM7 on my SGS. Can't have both running CM7 |

QUOTE(enaleni @ Jun 10 2011, 03:52 AM) hi to all tab owner in this forum I have never used or installed Kies before, but I have tried the SEA GB release ROM on my Tab (P1000DXJPC) using ODIN. In fact, I flashed this for 2 of my colleagues' Tabs yesterday, and added koxudaxi's 3.0.7 GB kernel on top for ext4 and root. Nothing special about this GB release, stock rom + kernel was still slow for me, and with koxudaxi's kernel, it was faster but nowhere close to Overcome 1.6.4 Froyo 2.2.1 custom ROM.juz want to ask if anybody succes flash new gingerbread for our region use kies? coz i saw from samfirmware there is update to gingerbread ofisial for our region i know in this forum lot of us juz update our tab to overcome rom even me on overcome now juz want some info if there is anybody juz got update his/her tab use kiesssssss thats all hope somebody can reply this ;-) nite everybody Like sifu Benny, I have come back down to Froyo version of Overcome, stable and super fast. Will wait for Overcome 2.0.1 release before I consider GB again. Simple test - deleting a system app via Titanium Backup took me 10 secs in GB, while doing the same in 2.2.1 took less than 5 secs. |

QUOTE(yolk @ Jun 10 2011, 11:37 AM) how's the battery life in 1.6.4 Froyo ? I used to get less than 8 hours when i was on it and now in GB I can easily get more than 10 hours with the same amount of usage patern. That's why I'm sticking with Overcome 2.0 for now but I've installed koxudaxi's kernal and now it's been stable .. so far I think battery life is better for me on Overcome 1.6.4 vs. Overcome 2.0.0 Gold. Mind you I don't use my Tab as a phone. |

QUOTE(tanvicious @ Jun 15 2011, 01:00 PM) Earlier i post about the problem i had....the i flashed it with rotterhammer JMI version... Sorry, not familiar with rotohammer. Normally when I have weird errors or problems, I will boot to CWM and wipe cache and dalvik cache and also fix permissions. If still same, I will restock, meaning I flash to a safe version of GB as given by the Overcome team. Usually 100% success rate in resolving issues.now i have one problem...the GT reboot itself every a few second....turn on , turn off, turn on, turn off like a sick joke.... Please help.... Look for Gingerbread Stock-Safe V3 at http://overcome.mimzo.com/?page_id=558. Instructions at http://overcome.mimzo.com/?page_id=64 |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 15 2011, 02:34 PM) He doesn't have cwm recovery installed. So your advise using cwm cannot help him. Anyway he just PM me has flash GB Rom from samfirmware and is ok now Oh, in my excitement with OC2.0.1 I didn't read his previous posts properly. Ha, sometimes it's good to use ODIN and go back to stock. The safe-stock v3 is also an ODIN-based solution.Good to know all is well now.. Added on June 15, 2011, 3:26 pm QUOTE(izizree @ Jun 15 2011, 03:09 PM) man i wanna flash with new overcome rom.do i need to flash it as usual?im mean using odin, then recovery like written down in the website.now im using overcome gingerbread but heard the latest has came out so wanna try it.went to the website also but dont know which one to download?any help? QUOTE(izizree @ Jun 15 2011, 03:29 PM) yup read dy.but don undrstnd.i just wanna know wether i need to do full flash or just install via recovery cuz im using overcome gingerbread dy If you're already on Overcome GB - beta or rc or gold, you should just flash the non-wipe zipfile via CWM/recovery. Don't forget to wipe the caches (cache & dalvik cache) first. |

Compared to the iPad I had before, the Tab does everything better except for just 2 things:
1. Fewer apps for children, fewer really nice games. 2. 7" screen is too small for reading e-magazines (PDF) especially magazines with columns all over the pages. |

thepitbull and benny888, both very patient fellas
I for one am no guru, but I do read posts and guides very carefully before doing stuff to my gadgets (hence low post count ha ha). Unfortunately, I am also am impatient guy hence I don't normally bend over so much to help those who do not want to help themselves with a little bit of reading and are hell-bent on screwing themselves over. |
