BTW, Benny bro, I think I still need MarketAccess. smile.gif

After numerous wipes of Market data and cache, I still intermittently get issues like updates to my paid apps not appearing, e.g. latest incident being latest update to Voodoo Control Plus not appearing under 'My Apps' unless I run MarketAccess to emulate US SIM and then relaunching Market app to check.

As always, I will restore back to 50216 (digi) after I am done with the Market app. No big issue, quite used to running MarketAccess already by now. smile.gif

what is the best web browser for galaxy tab?
*
Opera Mobile is my personal favourite with Dolphin Mini for 'guest' use - I use a tool to password protect personal apps such as Opera Mobile and Tweetdeck. Stock browser is the final standby. Found Dolphin HD and Firefox too slug-like, their great many desktop-like features notwithstanding.

Note : All browsers' user agents set to 'Desktop browser' mode.

2.3.3 firmware out yet?
*
Not for Malaysia, but yes, 2.3.3 is available for those who don't mind flashing other regions' ROMs.

For those asking which is best browser, it is up to your own taste and requirements. Different people have different expectations from a browser, and is not on speed alone. Eg user kmrdeva stands by his opera which I rank at near bottom - but if he is happy with it and meets all his expectations - it is his best browser and we should respect his decison.
All browsers are free, just download and test yourself and decide which is your best
My best browser is still dolphin HD, follow by xcope, miren, default, opera, skyfire and worst I feel is firefox
*
Yes bro, to each his own. Web browser preference even on computers is a highly subjective matter. I am a big Chrome fan (on both Linux and Windows) and totally despise Opera on the PC, almost as much as I hate IE9 and Safari. Firefox4 is nice, but not nice enough to nudge me off Chrome11.

Back to mobile web browser. My preference in descending order is Opera Mobile, Dolphin Mini, Miren, Stock, Dolphin HD, Opera Mini, Skyfire, Firefox. Looks like we agree that Firefox is still crap on Android smile.gif

Yes - this I agree with you. I use only Chrome browser on my MAC. Windows OS - I rarely used but is by default on Firefox. I used Windows only to flash my phones !!
*
Ha ha, Firefox is seriously at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Android web browsers. Hmm, maybe it's a bit lower than the bottom tongue.gif

Anyone knows a file browser that can open all file types or can associate file types with programs (similar to windows explorer)?

Can't seem to open files like cbr, azw, mobi, etc.

Tried using es file explorer, stock explorer, astro file manager .. cant. sad.gif(
*
CBR is a comic emag/ebook format, no? I'd think that you should first install a CBR reader app on the device before trying to open CBR files, for example?

I need some help here please. I want to flash back to factory default original.

I've downloaded the P1000DXKM2 file from www.samfirmware.com but the flash guide stated I need Phone, CSC and Pit files where can I get it?
*
On the samfirmware page, it lists that P1000DXKM2 needs P1 pit. The link to the download is at the top of the same web page, look for 'Galaxy Tab / .PIT File: DOWNLOAD. (P1)'.

When you unzip P1000DXKM2.RAR, do you get 3 files or just 1 file? If 3 files, specify them accordingly in ODIN. If just 1 file, then put under PDA.

hey pros..

have u guys come across these..

1. random auto reboot
2. hang while gaming, need to force reboot

what are the possibilities?
thanks.
*
Not facing both issues as far as I can see. Which ROM and kernel are you on? A lot of times, in my limited experience, problems tend to be due to 3rd party apps or customised roms/kernels.

Hey guys,

Just to give you guys a heads up. I'm in the midst of testing the 2.0.0 Gold release of Overcome ROM, with our first GB-based Overcome kernel. EXT4-conversion is alright (though I'm seeing some bugs in the updater package, so might slow down the release a bit) Overclocking works with the smartass governor, Haven't had the chance to test underclocking yet. But so far, it looks good.

So, if you're on Overcome RC1 or planning to upgrade to it from stock or Froyo. I'd suggest you hold off for a while. Should be out in the next 24-48 hours.

Help ... I downloaded the 001-Overcome_v2.0.0_GOLD_Update.zip file and had more than 3GB internal memory free. Clear cache/dalvik before installing update and upon reboot (after waiting for sometime) I got back to my home screen but now I keep getting "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

I went back to recovery to clear cache/dalvik and did a reboot and I'm still getting the same msg. I've lost my phone signal as well and it comes out as no service
*
Were you on Overcome 2.0 beta or RC before moving to Gold? Also, I think the upgrade instructions mentioned to clear cache + dalvik cache AFTER applying the zip.

Try CWM wipe data (like a factory reset, I believe) and boot again. Also, maybe you should consider restocking to stock GB and then applying full Overcome 2.0 zip?

Firmware version = 2.3.3
Baseband version = P1000XXJPZ
Kernel version = 2.6.35.7 Overcome-v3.0.0 #36

OK I downloaded and installed 'Android Assistant' - under Tools / System Info / Basic Hardware Info, I see Max Freq 1GHz, Min Freq 100MHz and Current Freq 1GHz.

You're welcome, didn't know my siggy can help so much smile.gif
