I finally got it installed. Confirmed that it is Gingerbread 2.3.3. However, it works great on my phone. Fix the lagging issue and apps launch faster.

Hello SGT users, nebie here and need a few questions/assistance.

I got the SGT P1010 from China on offer.
1. It is loaded with Navi GPS system. What GPS navigation system is suitable for M'sia, Spore, Thai, Indon to be used for SGT? How do I download this navi system or the map? Can I use the Navi system curently in my SGT?

2. How do I get google talk function? I can access Gmail but not google talk.

Yes, long time no see. I haven't had the time to try custom rom. Furthermore I use the Tab as my primary phone and can't afford the downtime if something goes wrong.

i'm using the tab with overcome as my daily device and as a phone and so far it's been great ... try it if/when you have the time .. no regrets

That is KIES fault. YOu have to go to Samsung website and download latest version of KIES. Somehow the older version does not know that there is an upgrade.

Select Software and Download the 2.0.1.11053_66_6 version.

Yup... kies got lots of problem... I'm happy with custom rom... so no need to go for official... and no kies involved.
