im thinking to take their degree program too..do any1 know that is their degree cert accepted internationally??lets say after degree at WOP, i want to go Singapore and work, will them recognize this cert??? thx
Its very smart for you to enquire WOU,I can help you answer regarding the international recognition for WOU, but is more into individual case by case
1) WOU is with international organization like ICDE (International Council for Open and Distance Education) partnership of UNESCO
And their MBA is with Commenwealth of Learning program that create by Commonwealth Heads of Government
2) You can try do self-accessment on Employment Pass and S-Pass for singapore via http://sat.mom.gov.sg/satservlet and enter Wawasan Open University as your graduated University to check but it doesnt reflect the real actual result of your application, as actual application is case by case basis
3) All certificate, degree, diploma, master, phd of Wawasan open university is MQA approved therefore you can do credit transfer, continue your master, phd in any University or College in Malaysia.
4) If your country doesnt recognize your university, a good example is University of Rockhampton (US) degree graduate, want to apply for Wawasan Open University for the MBA, he is being REJECTED as his certificate is not recognize even US itself.
5) If a wawasan open university graduated in their degree and want to get a MBA in National University of Singapore (NUS), The NUS registry will first check Malaysia Of Higher Education(MOHE) and Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) on their recognition on Wawasan Open University. WOU have all this bodies recognition.
However if your result is just pass or CGPA2.0 and cant speak english or write in english well, NUS may not accept the individual too. But if you were a First Class Honor in USM, Wawasan Open University, you will always welcome by NUS = ) is all case by case.
Recognition of Wawasan Open University were MOHE, MQA, JPA all these is important for your international recognition, loan approval etc and WOU have all recognition for all their Programs.
And WOU being rated by SETARA as 5star university too...
Most important is Wawasan Open University is Malaysia's first private, not-for-profit, open learning institution, a lifelong learning community without borders. The university takes a flexible approach to learning, aiming to make higher education accessible to all - anytime, anywhere. Funded by charitable trusts, corporations and the public, with the goal of offering lower the personal cost of learning and make it more affordable.
