Hello, Recently I graduate from diploma and working now. So I got apply for the September Intake Public U. But what happen now is that I am not sure whether to continue study to local University or go for part time study (distance learning). So is there anyone here enroll into Wawasan Open University before. Please give me your review about this University. Thank You smile.gif

Hi there... a fresh Degree graduate here from WOU Kuching branch... took my diploma in segi before this and was supposed to continue my degree in segi KL but due to unforeseen circumstances, i did not have the chance to go KL to pursue... so I decided to just work and fund myself to study with WOU...

What i can say with this WOU is that, the course is as tough as any other Universities.. At one point it affected my mental well being just because i had a hard time understanding the coursework 🤣🤣...

and to see a lot of people here in this forum claimed that the tutors/lecturers aren't skilled and knowledgeable enough is not true!! Though, there are some lousy ones for sure... but my experience was that the good ones outnumbered the lousy ones.. As for the good ones, I seriously gotta give credits to a few tutors such as Mr. Vijayan, Mdm Amee, Mdm Noreena, Mr Lim, Ms Donna and Mr Dzul, u guys are awesome!! And just like any other Uni, the tutors sometimes will also aim at you for not paying attention in the class... My class at once got scolded just because we did not read the course material and understand it before attending the class.. Well we only had like 2 hours... Can't blame the tutors for getting annoyed also.. haha... But regardless of what, I seriously gained a lot from them.. They are like my mentors!!

But there are a few whom I do not want to name, i almost fell asleep during their classes 😅...
....By the way, every University also have lousy lecturers not just WOU...

All i can say is that i learned a lottttttttt in this University to the point it helped with my job..

Other than that, my complains with the university is that the institution have the tendency of not having classes offered for the upcoming semesters.. I once had an argument with the staff who claimed that I did not check my program structure properly before enrolling for new classes (in fact I did), that's why i have a few semesters without any class 🤷🏻‍♂️.. Wasted my time... 😒😒

Another thing i must say that I find it weird is that they pressed on safe keeping the certs after I graduated from the uni.. They told me if the cert is being damaged in whatever circumstances, the institution will not reprint.. As from what I know, most Universities will have the ability to reprint degree certifications that comes with a fee.. I made me purchase a waterproof and fireproof bag just to safekeep my WOU degree cert 😅😅

But anyway, my advice is that, this University will serve as a last resort for those who do not have the choice but to pursue their degree/diploma while working.. as their timing is the most flexible and meets most working adult's timing.. If i have the choice of choosing other uni, of course i will go for taylors, curtin etc... But i wouldnt say this is a lousy Uni.. It's not..

Hope it helps for those who are googling about his Uni..
