I bought a SGS from Malaysia but now i living in Japan. May I know can I just subscribe their operator only without buying their phone? what i mean is my SGS can use in Japan?

now my SGS still can make a call but with rate rm4.50/min & rm2/sms. since my SGS can make a international call mean I can use my SGS with their operator?
what I want is I wanna subscribe japan's local operator without buying new phone. I very confuse now because I heard that local phone cant use in other country, same as japan's phone cant use in malaysia.

Really?! my SGS now indicating I using NTT Docomo(one of the jpn's operator) so it mean I can use this phone with their operator?
actually just now i went to one of their operator shop asked them but they told me oversea's phone cant use in japan... I really wanna argued with them but well, my japanese still havent reach that kind of level
