QUOTE(verdangilte @ Apr 18 2011, 08:20 PM) "latest firmware in malaysia is froyo dxjpe 2.2. it's laggy compared to 2.2.1/2.3 lol The top complain for this model is lag. For those who don't flash and don't apply lagfix, nothing much can be done. I can safely say the lag problem is fixed in 2.3.3. so we will usualli flash to other region's firmwares through 'odin' (one of the methods of flashing) then, those hardcore flashers will usualli proceed to custom rom/kernel to gain maximum satisfaction haha i'd say it's 99% unbrickable, even if it does, it will be covered under warranty " i agree..one of the benefit that use android is download apps with FOC.. and it is easy to use.. btw..any disadvantages on this model ? sure have some unsatisfaction de The second top complain is GPS. Sporadic. Does not happen to me so can't say much. I think third is 'No camera flash'. Buyers should have checked before buying this phone. Yet, there are still some who complain about this. |

QUOTE(CELCOM.AXIATA @ Apr 19 2011, 09:47 AM) actually android is indeed copycat of iOS. the ceo of google was also member of apple board of directors. so google actually stole many ideas. steve jobs was so pissed that he completely hide iPad development and google was caught out. it then took one year for them to respond. Go troll some where else pls. It's not my father company vs your father company. |

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Apr 25 2011, 04:15 PM) Oh, I see. PapagoX5 is very slow sometimes in detecting satellite. Sygic... orginal? or pirated? If pirated, can send me the link to download it via PM? I am using the PAPAGO! X5, I think it's slow to lock and drain battery like hell. You enlighten me with the new GPS performance. I'll try Custom Gingerbread ROM as soon as it had gone stable for SGS Captivate variant. Thanks. Waze is the only free GPS I find out so far. Maps are acceptable now for KL & PJ area. I use it daily for tips on traffic condition. Very useful indeed. |

Just for sharing. Good app name camTranslator.
It helps you translate words and texts just using your camera. Needs internet connection as it doesn't save the database in the phone memory. |

I am quite contend with XXJVK ROM. Smooth, fast browsing, good batt life (except when the "software update" bug strike) and fast GPS lock.
Guess I'll enjoy original gingerbread a bit longer before I start flashing again.... |

I notice that those on ginger, the "software update" bug usually strike when you simulate other telco using market access or market enabler...
Btw, I keep it in the fridge (with TB) as of now.. |

QUOTE(cybersim2 @ Apr 27 2011, 11:15 AM) thx. wat does tis test do ? is they any fix for GPS problem? It is just a built in test app for your phone GPS. Not a fix if you really have GPS problem. For GPS fix refer to first page. The details are there.oh ya.. i heard we need to turn off Wireless location before we on GPS, izit ? Most ppl use papago to check their GPS signal, but I find papago is unreliable itself coz the app sometimes does not activate the GPS and that is why most will see the satellite blinking to no end... |

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Apr 27 2011, 12:01 PM) guys, If you are using Maxis, just select mms only in the APN type. You do not need to deactivate your data network.i couldn't receive mms when the data network mode is deactivated. its quite troublesome coz i need to activate when my friends are sending mms over. if its deactivated, then i wont be able to download MMS. any alternative to solve this? thanks!! |

QUOTE(silentser @ Apr 28 2011, 12:55 AM) since wiki have an open to all to edit policy, anyone can edit it, so we just make a page, make a table, then ask anyone who want their name in there to edit that page and put it their name. This is a good idea... or another way that i can think is, we create a google document, an excel document maybe, and up it up, anyone can also edit that list. some how i kinda got the feeling that wiki will be soooo much great, anyone can contribute of filling in those information, it will be like everyone is a TS. we can put in link to thread that sell SGS accessory and anyone can put in links to the latest roms, and reviews. |
