Just updated to XXJVB stock rom.

Guys, your gps problem days r over!
Locks in 10s with 10/10 satellites without any data or A-gps from cold start. Previously, it took 2 ~5 mins for my gps to lock in. Now, with 2.3.3, gosh it's freaking awesome!!!!

Note: Last time when I'm on froyo (2.2.1) and just flashed the modem itself (xxjve, xxjvk, etc), it doesnt solve the problem. But when I flash the whole 2.3.3 stock rom (XXJVB), gps just locks in within seconds.

zumapuma.. mind to show pic where should we "press"..

Forget about pressing.
Throw away all the gps aids, faster fix, gps optimisation, gps booster, etc.
Just flash to XWJVB stock rom. It's freaking awesome. Trust me.
Now after I turn on my papago and before I can even move the car, the voice will say "voice navigation starts...." ;-)
Within seconds, you will be able to lock in. Previously, I have to drive like 2~3km before it locks in.

too bad for darky supporters.
lucky I stopped using his rom. or else I might be disappointed.
BTW, I don't notice any improvement to my gps after doing that "pressure fix". I tried both with and w/o, almost the same result. no ground-shattering result or whatever. I cleared gps data, reboot prior to every test. either pushed too hard or my gps is completely f***ed up, idk.
thanks BTW to zumapuma for bringing this to our attention.

Did u try flashing to stock xwjvb?
It's really awesome for me.
Solve my gps problem once and for all.
Cold start, no data or agps and yet locks in 5~10 seconds.

bossessssss... can answer my noob question ah ? you guy's sgs gps have to use with DATA on ?
*
No data for me.
I have been suffering from gps problems since July last year when I got the phone. Flashed all kinds of rom and apply all kinds of fixes, booster but make no difference. Still took 3 to 5 mins to lock in.
But after flashing to stock xwjvb, my gps problems are over. rclxms.gif
Locks in seconds, and I really mean seconds--as fast as 5 seconds from cold start and with 9 to 10 sats..

the last time I remember I wanted 2.2 is because of the flash support and some new features.
after that, 2.3 does sounds like suppose to be faster due to /ext4 format. but since 2.2.1 with different speedmod does seems to make the phone perform even before converting to ext4.
Unless there's something in 2.3 that I can't miss or i might be better off sticking to 2.2.1 for now.

JVB sounds like isn't that stable yet. other rom seems to have problems of their own. I'll try to wait for another month before any move.
*
I ll never go back to 2.2.1again. jvb solves my gps problem once n for all. Battery is good for me n very stable for me too.
