Added on May 7, 2011, 6:44 pmneed double confirm. i just need to download two file to flash cm7 right?1 is kernel-cm-7-INITIAL-galaxys-signed.zip and another one is  update-cm-7-INITIAL-galaxys-signed.zip. correct?
*
Yes. Download both file. After flash EZBase, flash initial kernel with Odin without autoreboot. Then reboot manually to CWM and flash initial zip file (the 90mb file)

I believe cyanogenmod has a widget that can easily switch between 2g and 3g. More reason why this aosp rom is important smile.gif
*
Unfortunately the widget in cm7 is not fully functional. You have to toggle mobile data to turn it off and click 2G widget then turn again mobile data again. But its better than nothing

@ken2291, i just installed guerrilla bob, pes2011 and reckless racing but didnt hv time to play it yet. Will let u know asap

@phyz. I flash JVH base, then flash CF-Root without tick autoreboot, then reboot to CWM and flash Tweaky Rom. It didnt come with Superuser app but i can use RootExplorer, ShootMe, MarketEnabler and other apps which required root access.

how unstable is cm7?
*
it gets hot very quick and the batt drainage is little worse than Sammy's gingerbread. it can be a daily usage Rom, just keep your charger near to you. on +ve side, its the fastest Rom i ever experienced

@pcboy just saw your sig. you overclock the kernel to 1.3 No wonder la you've got battery heating problem

I'll be testing stock kernel first.  later I'll try other custom ones.
*
Haha, no wonder.. will use stock 1ghz and hopefully it solves my heating problem.. do you know what's the issue with lightsensor? I flash the latest nightly update to fix lightsensor but still dont know whats it all about.. LOL

poknik,

can share me link for cm7...nak try nih...look like cm7 getting better and better.. and i need some recommendation about kernel and set up for the best performance..hehehe
*
chan a.k.a nizam,

installation for cm7 is exactly same like MIUI.. here's the link to download those files
.. start from EZBase, then flash cm7 kernel without tick autoreboot, then reboot into CWM and flash cm7-initial-zip file..

There are 4 kernels for cm7 which are stock kernel, TK-Glitch, bilboa1 and platypus.. i've been using all kernels and i prefer platypus.. because you won't OC up to 1.5ghz will you? tongue.gif with platypus, you can UV up to -50mV on 1ghz and it's still stable ... I guess it depends on each device.. my phone can't do heavy UV.. very manja one brows.gif

err guys, i've just flashed to miui MGv1
followed all the steps according to theandroidsoul
but it cant detect my network...
the sim card's inserted just fine, everything was ok when i flashed to froyo just now..

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks smile.gif
*
Yea, i have that same problem too. You must flash older version first, for.example Miui by bozdag, then flash MGv1 as update, on top of bozdag's

1 thing i dun understand about cm, nightly mean they will update nightly?OTA update or we need to update use odin/cwm?
*
Nightly is update version on top of Initial.. when devs can solve certain bugs, they release nightlies.. after satisfy enuff, they compile all fixes and make it Initial..

download nightlies and flash with CWM.. initial is full wipe, nightly dont wipe

Titanium backup could not restore data? all saved game gone...  sad.gif
*
The problem with MIUI or cm7, I can't restore apps using mybackup pro, TB or other apps.. even Nandroid backup gives me FC on almost all apps.. I have to start everything from scratch sad.gif ... i hope other friends can give guidance how to settle this..

*on 2nd thought, i think it's because of cm7 external sd is located at /emmc folder.. so all backup apps face problem to retrieve the data... just my 2cent
